Natural cycle w/ IUI?

Is anyone else trying a natural cycle (no meds) with IUI?  Have others tried this and get their BFP?

thank you for your support and great words :) really hope to see more bfps for all the ladies out there. it's not an easy process for us women, it really drains us mentally .... but it's well worth it in the end :)

Oh, don't worry about missing it.  Thank you though.  I'm so glad you are blessed with a supportive husband.  Mine has been wonderful too.  It makes me sad to hear when ladies say their husbands are not supportive of treatment or pursuing other options.  It makes a world of a difference I'm sure. Best wishes to you.  I pray you get that bfp soon!! Keep your chin up and hang in there.

It really was a shocker, and has been devastating for the past year and half, especially being really hopeful after being married.

Prior to being married, we tried to be safe, so we were on a good year and half protection, then we started trying around 10/2009. To realize that I had the cyst in 5/2010. The cyst was removed along with polyps in 5/2011 via laporoscopy and hysteroscopy (kinda killing two birds with one stone). It wasnt a painful procedure, but it was painful for my husband to watch me react to the anasthesia. It was horrible.

Thank goodness for a supportive husband, he went with me to all my testings, even when the doctor said he didnt need to come. hopefully we dont have to go again for the follicle testing if this is it for us.

Wow.  That was a shock for sure.  Do you mean they took your ovary out or the blood cyst? I had several complex cysts (and simple-don't really know the difference) after being on clomid-which makes you ovulate.  So, maybe that is why they want to do natural IUI.  How long have you tried on your own?

Thank you! a little about me, I never thought it would be so difficult. prior to being married, my gyn results were all good. then last year just a month before I got married, Doctor said i have a cyst on my right ovary. With the wedding and stuff going on, I didnt take care of it till this year in May. It grew to a blood cyst. Doctor said i had a case of endometriosis, but since we took it out, i should be okay now. he asked when i liked to start iui, at that time i didnt know any of this stuff till my husband and i took a couple of months to relax, and read up on it. We decided to go through it begining of this month, testing for follicles, and doctor said, "we are starting you on natural iui". i just went with the flow. dont know what to expect. it has been a week since i did it. and it's been a very difficult one week, so i decided googling to see if there are any forums, and to my surprise, i found this website, and everyone here have been very supportative from reading the discussion threads. I am thinking if this doesnt work out, there's a next, and maybe the doctor would suggest iui with meds. then after if it still does not work we'll continue with IVF, but i do not have coverage for IVF, so i dont know how much that is going to cost us. Crossing fingers for both of us. Good luck!!! :)

Hi there.  Welcome to medhelp! You'll find great ladies on here.  I wrote this post about a year ago, so it has been awhile. Since my natural IUI (which was unsuccessful), we tried IUI with gonadotropins which was also unsuccessful.  We next went to IVF, but that also resulted in bfn.  Our 2nd IVF at a new clinic was unsuccessful as well, but we ended up with more embryos than with our first.  We did a frozen embryo transfer Aug 15, so I'm in tww also.  I just got two positive hpt today and yesterday :)  What's your history? Did you just start treatment?

I just joined the medhelp community, on 2ww, and now just 1 more week. I did a natural iui, and so far my research only showed many have tried iui with meds. so i dont know what the success rate of the natural iui cycle is. Please update yours.. thank you.

Awesome! I will be anxious to hear how you do.  I too have been taking vit (C and B12) as well as a multi-vit.  You're right, you have to create the best conditions in there.  Praying it is successful for  you!!

I just did a natural IUI with only vitamins, no meds.   My lining was good before IUI, 11.7 and my follicle was 21, so I am praying this is my cycle.  I took vitamin b6, baby aspirin, and b50 along with acupuncture before and after IUI.  I also take wheat grass to lower my fsh level and iodine to help my thyroid levels.  Sounds like a lot, but it is all about getting really healthy so I can conceive.
Sending baby dust!
