Nervous about Injections

This will be my first IUI cycle with using injections. I am doing 5 days of Clomid and 3 days of injections. I then go into the office on the 31st.

My doctor recommended viewing some videos on Youtube. They showed me how to do it in the hospital, but I am a little nervous.

Any tips or advise on how to do the injections?

The first injection tonight wasn't too bad. I ended up standing up while doing it, becuase it felt more natural and I could get the 90 degree angle better.

I agree with everyone. It wasn't painful at all if warmed up to room temp for 5-10 min first.  It's also much easier after the first time when you get the hang of it.  I've been on Gonal F as well and will be taking Ovidrel hopefully in the next few days. (was also on Femara pills)

Good luck.

i agree , it's well worth it and take it out of the fridge 5 mins before hand to let it come to room tempreture, all i felt was the soultion going in and it stung abit but that was all, you will get the hang of it and good luck

I'm starting my second round of follistim the other ladies had great advice the only thing i would add is make sure you warm the meds up before injecting (hold in your palm yo warm it)  the only time it ever hurt was when i did not let it get to room temp.  it's only scary the first time then you realize, hey that's not so bad.

Piggy2 that's exactly what i did just kept telling myself it's worth it!!

Good luck to you all!! SSBD!

I agree with piggy2....just have to bit the bullet and do it...I have done two rounds of injectibles...first few on the first round had my hubby help...then I just did the rest myself...it's a little wierd of a feeling...not painful...just strange...After a while though I became a pro (unfortunately)...I wish I was not so good at it...just means I have done it too many times. Just had my 8th IUI 10 days ago...second round with injectibles...not feeling too positive about this time though...just have a bad feeling...Hang in there!

Don't let the apprehension scare you.  it is just a needle and it is just going in your skin.  You will not be hitting any major organs or anything like that.  Just think, "bite the bullet" this is worth it.  Think about your beautiful children smiling and laughing that you are trying to create.

DO NOT PUSH IT IN SLOW!!!!  that is the worst.  DO NOT JAB IT IN FAST EITHER!  nice and steady, over in less than 60 seconds, and how many seconds in a day?  see my point?  I know injections are not fun but are needed.  I did them and I am two weeks away from delivering twins.  Good Luck!!!

What are you using? It is really easy. There is a pharmaceutical site that shows you as well. If I find it I will send it to you.
