I am new to this forum and have a  question.we were trying for baby#2; had Mirena inserted twice (a total of 10 yrs) removed it and concieved after 1 cycle but miscarried at 7 weeks in mid June didn't have a period after miscarriage; consulted a fertility specialist who advised me to go through a laparoscopy to find outwhats going on in the uetrus they found mild endo, adhesions in the uterus which was removed by hysteroscopy; now its been 5 week and no period... is this normal? Dr. has called me in for a ultrasound tomorrow... I am very nervous. Please help.

I am a little confused, again I don't understand alot about endo. and the difference between it and ashermans.  It kind of still sounds like asherman's to me.  I am just not sure.  i also don't know what you mean by "cleaning" everthing inside your uterus means... I do know that ashermans can start reforming immediately. AND 1 of the biggest problems after ashermans is a scant lining.   I wish I could be of more help to you and give you more direction... but could I suggest one thing?  You could post a question on Ashermans.org and see what response you get from them.
I can tell you 1 thing.... there is another person on here Kris71 and her doctor told her she didn't have ashermans, but just adhesions... and I recommeded that she call the #1 ashermans doctor in the world, who just happens to live in the same city as she does... and she went and got a second opinion from him.  She had ashermans.  This is your fertility you are talking about, please just consider doing a little research.
I look forward to hearing from you, and please shoot Kris71 a note.  Maybe it would help.

xo,
Melissa

Hi mhv,
hope you are doing well... Here's an update: I had an u/s and Dr. found my lininig to be scant; the next day after the appt i started period. Dr. asked me to get the HSG done and got some blood work AMSH i think to check my ovarian reserves. Got the HSG results back saying that I still have some scarring in the uterus as the cavity did not fill-up completely. The Dr. is possibly looking into getting another hysteroscopy to remove the scarring. I am just worried that after hysteroscopy I might develop another scarring and this could be a recurring problem. The Dr, cleaned everything inside my uterus on 09/02/10 and confirmed that I don't have Asherman's syndrome.

He said that may be my lining was thin as my system has not kicked in yet... My last period was 04/01/10... then I was pregnant which I miscarried in June and since June and then due to the surgery the doc had put me on birth control pill to keep my lining thin so he thinks I still have the effects of the pill... I will keep you posted after i get my results back. Thanks for your feedback :) and will keep you posted.

OH good!  No asherman's!  Glad to hear that!  Did he say what your lining was at?  I'm sure you would have a period even with a thin lining... so that's good too!  Did he say why he thought your lining was so thin?  Glad to hear your having an HSG.. that should be helpful.  I will be looking for your update afterwards : )

Update:
Had my u/s on Friday had very scant uterine lining... eggs in follicles... doc has asked to go for HSG to make sure hysteroscopy went went and no scarring had reformed... confirmed that i did not have asherman's and my endo was Stage 1. He also suggested to take a Blood test to test my ovarian reserves. Shortly, After the appt. I had bleeding. Now bleeding for 3 days freaked out thinking that I had no lining then what am I shedding. Called the nurse  she said i probably was shedding the scant lining I had. I will go for HSG on 10/13/10 and get the blood work done the same day. Will keep you posted.

Yeah, I will be interested to see what he has to say.  Definately ask him if it's endeometris or ashermans.  I don't know alot about endo. but do know with ashermans the adhesions start forming right away... just double check on your diagnosis ok?

thanks and yea will let you know... He supposedly removed the uterine adhesions but the surprising part is prior to this miscarriage i had nothing done in my uterus apart from the vaginal birth of my son with no issues; according to the doctor the adhesions do not form right away and the fact that i had hysterectomy last month to remove those adhesions and also has a polyp that was removed too. Not sure whats going on with my body... just wanted a second child so my older one is not so lonely :(. i hope God listens to my prayers soon.

I'm just asking these questions because I discovered i had Ashermans syndrome (interuterine adhesions), and was trying to figure out if that's what he was looking for.  It causes missed periods, among other things (ie thin lining).  I didn't know if he told you it was endometreosis or if he said interuterine adhesions...  I am just trying to figure out what is going on with you : )   Please let me know what he says tomorrow.

I'll be thinking of you : )

It sounds like they adhesions may have reformed.   Is he just going to do an ultrasound or a saline induced ultrasound?  Have you had a period since the removal of the adhesions?
