I wish that i could find a clinical trial somehow to help me pay for my donor egg IVF..
Would you know of how i would go about that? Like who to contact?
Thanks! :o)
A friend of mine enrolled in a clinical trial. The study paid for everything for her 1st ivf. She was able to keep all of the eggs retrieved so she was able to skip that part for her next 2 IVF's. For her 4th ivf, she "donated" 1/2 of her eggs to another couple and only had to pay for 1/2 of the ivf procedure.
My husband is in the Air Force & we went thru a similar situation. Our fertility doctor offered military discount (which definitely helped), but we ended up having to take a loan out for $11,000 (IVF w/ ICSI and thank god it worked the first attempt). Look on the tri-care website. I don't remember exactly how it works, but if you live close enough to some type of military hospital (the downside is that there are only 4 or so in the nation) then it works out more in your favor as far as paying goes.
Yes, I agree it's hard to pay. Many of us are in same position. I was lucky to have insurance coverage..but still didn't work. I will now have to pay out of pocket. Good Luck to you.
I have seen several fertility clinics that offer discounts for military patients. You might google ivf for military and see what comes up. Good Luck! And, I agree.... people in the military should be covered! Of course, I think we alllll should be : )
Wow.. what a shame that the military insurance doesnt pay for IVF...
That bugs me..
Hi, I just had ivf in may with icsi and assisted hatching it was $9000.00 I am sure if you go to your RE they can maybe get some med samples for you for free, just ask! The fact that your DH is in the military, you should be ablest apply for a hardship grant. Just research some RE's. You just need to know what questions to ask. Good luck!
