Anyone out there who got pregnant with 1 embryo transfered?

Hi Ladies,
I had 1 embryo transfered 3 days ago.
It's a day 5 transfer, a blastocyst.
I am 37. My first IVF. I had 16 eggs retrieved, 8 mature. 6 fertilized with ICSI, but 2 never reached day 3.
4 of them reached day 3 and they all looked great on day 3, they were grade 2, good normal # of cells, but only one reached day 5 and became a blastocyst.

Does the fact that 5 fertilized eggs didn't survive but only 1 survive say anything bad about the quality of the one that survived? I am starting to doubt the quality of my eggs, and feel a little pessimistic and sooo want to feel optimistic, anything you can tell me for that ould be Great!!! :-)

I have endometriosis which my doctor says probably lowered my egg reserves and quality hence the reason for not getting pregnant naturally.

So they transfered my wonderful little blastocsyt.

Anyone who got pregnant on a one embryo transfer? A grade 2?

I have had 6 IUIs before, and find the BFN so depressing.
By the way, I got pregnant on my first IUI back in April 2008 (with only two folllicles on low dose of chlomid), but had an ectopic....so don't understand why I didn't get pregnant again in all our tries since then.

Thanx so much for all your support, need all the faith I can get.

Hi Honey! I'm sorry to hear of all your struggles with TTC. I can totally relate! This is such an emotional roller coaster! I haven't done IVF yet, but I think you still have a good chance with just one blast transferred. I know many clinics in Europe only transfer one.

The grading is a bit hard to comment on, since clinics have very different ways of grading the embryos (for example, some places a 5 could be considered the top rating, while other places it would be the lowest rating). Plus, I've also hard women on here get pregnant with what was considered low-grade embryos, so I guess it's not always a factor.

Best of luck to you! I hope you get to celebrate a BFP within the next couple of weeks!

I think it is totally possible!!!!  It only takes one and blasts have a higher implantation rate I've heard.  Good luck and think positive!!!!!

Sorry to be joining this discussion late - I got pregnant w/single embryo transfer but it was a donor egg situation.  I wish you much luck in getting your BFP & like the above poster said, blastocytes have a higher implantation rate or so I've read.
