FSH / E2 levels - results back

My FSH was 6.4 and my E2 was 30.  The nurse said these were in normal ranges.  I hate that.  Can anyone give me anymore insight as to what side of normal this looks like.  Promising?  Concern?  Please help.  Thanks.

Thanks for your comments and getting me a little relaxed on my new scare!!
What parameters are you looking for that can help you comment a little more on my CD3 test results.
I know u asked about my progesterone....ON one occasion I think CD22 it was .2, which they said was low, meaning I did not ovulate, so they put me on provera for a couple of days and then my periods started. Last cycle I was on femara and had a mid leutal progesterone check, it came back 27.something, whcih they said was good.
Please let me know what other information should I provide.

jenandjon: I will look through the websites u have recommended.

E2 of less than 200 on dc3 is completely ok.
Please don't worry about your E2 there is no reason to.
I can not comment on your cd3 check because you did not post all the parameters.

jenandjon:
I found a canadian site selling cheap puregon, you should not require high dosages so it should not cost over $500 for the first 1-3 cycles if you use puregon + ovitrelle.
Try to find companies on the net selling the follistim medications but make sure the source is reliable.

OMG.....I never knew that E2 was high for CD3; they said it was all normal....I had it checked on a couple of other occasions too, when I was approaching ovulation , it was 176 and another time it was 220.
The higher E2 on CD3 could mean that there is a cyst or something, which could have been the case...but I will check with my RE if he wants to repeat my CD3 blood work.
Can you please advise what these hormones and their normal and abnormal values mean?

G_S - If I were u, I'd get those day 3 levels checked again.  I'm not so sure about that E2 level.  I had heard 25-75 was normal but read an article that at the higher levels it can artifically lower your FSH level.  I also read about IVF not having much success with E2 levels over 80.  I don't want to scare you, but I'd do some more research and have that blood work checked again.

Everyone:  thanks for the comments, suggestions and feedback.  I think we'll probably do what the doc suggests and do 3 months of 100 mg Clomid days 1-5 with at least 2 IUI's (cuz I have enough in my FSA to cover that) and then think about injectables ($1k-$2K per cycle).  If anyone has any info on how I can get the injectables cheaper, please let me know.  Tks guys.  Sending my sparkly pink pixie baby dust to everyone.

You are right. 5 weeks is too erly to test. I did try to test and had a D&C for it instead of natural mc at 7 weeks and it did not test because it was too early.

At 39 there is a bigger risk for coagulation problems. These tests are quite expensive but I found out I had factor 5 and MTFHR so I am on clexane after my second mc. If you had a D&C in the past I'd also suggest to do a hysteroscopy just to confirm everything is ok.

Did you think about PGD for IVF? Do you have an idea about the cost?

Thanks

The E2 on CD3 is low which is good, the FSH shows a good ovarian reserve.
What were the progesterone levels etc?

this seems to be ok...

good luck

OK Jen,
I am back home and loohed at my test results:
I had my FSH, E2 and LH on CD3 almost a year back.
FSH - 4.5
L2 - 3.91
E2 - 75.8
Now my RE then said that was normal too. I have absolutely no idea what these levels signify, but would love to know. So please share your thoughts

If your partner's sperm is fine, then I recommend Injectibles, clomid, and good old fashioned BDing. It worked the first time for me. The clomid for 4 months - nothing - I did O twice which was nice but nothing came of it.

Once I added the injectibles (menopur) it was a magic bullet for me. :) Hope this helps.

we did not have any testing after the miscarriage. Actually, it occurred quite early, just over 5 weeks, so maybe there wasn't enough tissue to test?  My RE did not request it, and we didn't either.

considering you are 34 i would suggest trying the clomid and possibly the iui...it could really take a couple more months to who knows how long

i was amazed after stopping ortho evra what i read about it...it takes your body a lot of cycles to get back to normal

heres a question and something i noticed...my cycles were very very light for awhile like 6 months and they were very short...like a day or 2 and still light...then at 7 months i had a heavier 4 day long AF visit and i just knew things were getting back to normal....8 month...no AF and im not 13 weeks preggers

yes, you are correct. Prog over 10 in a natural cycle is listed as ok. Still it is a good idea to produce a stronger ovulation if one is not successful.

To jenandjon: I suggest you try at least clomid + iui.
I ttc at the age of 28. Tried for about 18 months. Afterwards I got pregnant with Clomid but m/c week 12. Got pregnant again with injectables+iui and m/c again.
Had to undergo a hysteroscopy to remove adhesions.
after my last m/c I already had 3 cycles of injectibles+iui, without any success.
We are unexplained, everything seems to be perfect, but nothing is.
I will be 32 next month, and happy that I did not wait.

To: Sarge1
Did you test the caryotype after the m/c?

Do u think I should ttc awhile longer then before trying the Clomid and IUI?  My DP thinks it the orthoevra too, but I was only on it for 6 months.

thanks!  As for the cost of my IVF cycles, I am so grateful that my insurance covers 4 cycles, meds and all. I do realize how lucky I am; I believe the cost would have been in the $15,000 range, plus meds (another $5000 or so).  In that way, it was an easy decision to move straight to IVF before giving some of the less invasive, less expesive treatments more of a chance.
All of your levels sound where they should be. Best of luck!

Hmmm! I have to disagree with me2angels. I think 13.4 is a good number for an unmedicated cycle. Like your doctor said, anything over 10 is normal.

wow!  keep me posted.  I'm praying for your BFP on Monday.  My journey is just beginning.  I'm 34 with DS - 7 and DD - 5 from previous marriage.  DP would like 2 of his own.  I was worried about the FSH/E2 levels, but they seemed pretty good.  My dr thought I should ttc naturally for awhile longer, but I don't want to waste time and he agreed to go ahead with IUI & Clomid in March.

How much are your IVF cycles? I've heard to expect between 15 - 20K per cycle.  I prob can't afford that.

No problem, I know what you mean about it being hard to keep track of everyone.
Let's see, I'm 39, and have been ttc since October 2006.  Married 16 years with no children for either DH or I.  Neither of us have any issues (SA perfect, no blocked tubes, no PCOS, no ovulation problems, etc.). We tried naturally, then 2 rounds of Clomid with IUI; we went forward with injectibles with IUI, but that cycle got cancelled due to DH's work travel schedule (AFTER I had taken all of the shots), so we then decided to not waste any more time and moved on to IVF, with my own eggs. The first IVF failed; the second resulted in pregnancy but we miscarried; I will find out on Monday if my third IVF was successful!

I had a similar story. injectables with IUI is best.
If you are willing to do this skip the clomid.

I am ttc now for over 3 years.

That's what doc said.  After that I think he may want to move to injectables and IUI, but hopefully we won't have to go that route.

Weak ovulation sounds reasonable to me.  I would get + OPK on one test, - on another, then another +.  Hopefully the Clomid will help.

jenandjon,

13.4 is what I call "weak ovulation".
There is nothing to worry about right now.

IUI with clomid is a good idea.
Don't try with clomid more than 3 times.

good luck!

My 7dpo progesterone in December was 13.4.  They said above 10 shows ur ovulating.  I've been ttcing for about 6 months, but I was on orthoevra patch previously.  I think that messed my earlier cycles up when my LP was only around 9 days.  This month was much better at 13.

Sarge1 - How long ttcing?  any success?  what have u tried?  sorry if I've asked b4.  Its hard to keep up with everyone.

I think Feb will be a blown cycle as DP is traveling alot right around O.  But they want to do IUI and Clomid in March.

Dear Jenandjon,

The values you show seem to be normal.
Do you have any additional values such as progestrone?

How long are you ttc?
