I use bravelle and Menopur.
Each cycle I got around 12 mature eggs and then with the first two cycles, about 8 fertilized (with ICSI) and we ended up both times with 2 blastocycsts for five day transfers with none to freeze. This last time, I got 12 mature eggs again, all twelve fertilized (again with ICSI), 5 made it to blast stage so we implanted 2 and froze 3. At the start of each cycle (after BCP), I started with 20 ml of Lupron in the morning and then on about day 12 (trying to recall without looking at my calendar) it was reduced to 5 ml for 2 days and throughout the rest of the injectibles. After 2 days of 5 ml Lupron, I started 75 ml of Menopur in the morning and varying amounts of Follistem in the p.m. I kept on this amount of meds until my trigger shot date was confirmed then no meds the day of trigger. The Follistem pen was great to use and my RE could vary it based on how I was responding. The largest dose of Follistem I had in one shot was 150 ml.
Hope this helps and good luck!
SSBD!!!!

TankerChic: Thank you :-)
I'm sorry to hear you had to lose one of your tubes - I lost 1/2 of my right ovary due to endo. It still functions every now and again. When it does, it hurts like h e l l though!
I wish you much luck in your ttc journey and hoping you get your BFP soon!!
Thanks Again!!
I got bfp on my first IUI but it turned out being ectopic. It still was a BFP, so I still think of it that way. I took 25mg of clomid cd5-9 with hcg trigger.
My son was conceived on my 3rd IUI. That cycle I didn't use any follicle stimulating meds. Just hcg trigger and IUI.
I am currently ttc again. I am using 75mg of follistim injectable. We are using meds because my left ovary didn't produce a follie for 5 cycles and I don't have a right fallopian tube. I lost it during the ectopic. So far I have had one IUI with follistim and it was BFN. I am trying again this cycle.
My original diagnosis was/is unexplained infertility.
best of luck to you
Fawn: Thanks so much! Wow, that was a lot of meds to keep track of! I'm glad you got your BFP though!!!
tbeards: Thank you also...!! Congrats on the twins! If you don't mind my asking, how many follies did you produce? DH has 20% motility...I have endo and PCOS.... DH is currently taking 1000mg of vit c daily, so hopefully that will help his swimmers lol...
Thank you again ladies :-)
Have a Happy and Safe New Year!!!
I have gone through three IVF cycles and had the same protocol, which was Lupron, Follistem and Menopur. The first cycle resulted in a singleton (dd), second one didn't work and third one I am currently pregnant with twins.
Oh yeah, I have PCOS but respond well to the FSH.
Good luck!
Hi dnikki,
I am currently 17+ weeks pregnant and this is what worked for me.
My question is which fertility drugs did you take and got your BFP?
I took 100mg Clomid days 3-7 and Bravelle (injectable) days 5-10 and then a trigger shot on day 11 and IUI day 12.
How long? I went on meds to bring down my prolactin level for about a month and did my infertility treatment as well and within a month I was pregnant.
Any issues associated with your infertility (Endo, PCOS...)? High Prolactin level & PCOS, DH has no problems.
Who had twins or more lol? Pregnant with 1.
Who overstimulated? I didn't overstimulate.
I wish you lots of SSBD! =)
Quinns: Thanks! I have taken clomid 25-50mg days 3-7 and IUI's for basically a year...I had one BFP but m/c'd. I'm just getting frustrated and fed up.
I took a few months off all meds, so this cycle I started back up on Clomid 50mg hoping it will "jumpstart" me and we finally get a BFP that sticks!
Thanks again and good luck!!
Hi, got preggers with clomid 100 mg days 3-7 on my 3rd month on. If it had not worked it would of been on to IUI. Also had an HSG the month prior to getting pregnant and I also think that helped.
I have endometriosis and a luteal phase issue. Daughter is now 2 and tomorrow I start my first round of Clomid again for baby #2.
Good luck and baby dust to all of us!
