so you got pregnant when you didnt have your period for a while....so you can get pregnant even if you dont have your period...you are the second person that has said that they got pregnant even though they didnt have your period for while.  It ***** because we have been trying for about 3 years.  i dont know what is going on with m body right now because right now im experiencing very bad back pains....it started last night and they are really bad right now.

I have the same problem!!!! I started my period when I was 12 and it was always regular. My senior year in high school I missed one period a so I took a HPT and it came back positive (at the time I was 17 and was crying my eyes out that I was PG!!) Now I'm crying my eyes out when I get a BFN! Well later that night I started to spot. I went to the Dr and the said I was never PG. Well I started to bleed and it went on for 15 days! It was so heavy. From that point on I would get a period once a yr or around 6-9 mo apart. I put on a lot of weight also. I didn't have insurance then so I tried not to worry about. On May 26, 2005 I found out I was PREGGO!!! I did Birth Control for one month after I had her and my periods stayed irregular.

I finally got insurance a yr ago and started going to the Dr to find out why I don't have a period. They checked my thyroid, all my hormones, everything and couldn't find a thing wrong. So they just said I could do birth control to regulate me or try to have a baby. So my DH and I talked about it and decided our daughter needed a brother or sister. I come from a big family so I don't want her to be alone.
I have been doing Clomid since Feb. and 2 IUI's. I am in my awful 2WW and test on July 2nd. So I would get checked and go from there. The Dr did tell me that if I wasn't having a period then I wasn't ovulating, but how did I get PG then?

Have you ever gotten checked for PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)?  Are you overweight?  I had the same problem where I was not getting my period for months - even a year at a time.  Turns out I have PCOS.  It also turns out, that the longer I let my body go without having a period, the more I was putting myself in risk for the later future of running into complications with cervical issues.

SOOOO - here is my unexpertise advise.  Get to a doctor.  Get checked out.  If it is PCOS - and you are overweight, try to drop a big amount of weight.  I lost 87 pounds.  Played a HUGE part in my reproductive system.  I was getting my period more often (not necessarily every month) but a HECK of a lot more than just once a year.  I just finished IVF and got my beta results today and they came out positive for a pregnancy.  I tried IVF twice before with no luck - I attirbute it to the weight and the issues weight causes to PCOS patients and infertility.
