Silly hope and a BFN
Ok, so I know this is kind of crazy, but I took a hpt today.
Let me explain...
We have been TTC seriously for about 4 years, timing, OV kits, hormones.... No luck. Saw a specialist and he suggested we begin the IUI process. Well, we couldn't afford it, so we continued to hope for a natural conception.
A few months ago, I saw an ad for a clinical trial at our local University. I called, qualified and just did IUI #1 last Tuesday (the 12th). Doc said NOT to take a hpt because of the hcg shot/hormone regime could give me a false positive. Well, you guessed it... I took a hpt this morning (post IUI, day 5) . after 4 years, I just kinda wanted to see what a BFP even looks like... (fully knowing it would risk false hope) No BFP. I tested with a BFN. Damn.
It's possible that the hcg shot wore off and the natural pregnancy hcg hasn't kicked in yet, but I'm pretty disappointed. Man, why do I do this to myself?!

do you take the same brand HPT? If yes, congratulations.....test again in 2 days if it get darker.
However, It's still too early for the positive at 6dpo, watch out for the false positive.

5 DPO is too soon to get positive HPT. You need to wait until DPO12 - 14.

With my new dr this is my third iui. I had many with my other dr. I am now doing acupuncture too, so hoping that is what I needed. I took fermara this cycle. Hope you get good results on Tuesday!!

Since I am doing this as part of a clinical trial, I will go in for an ultrasound and blood work on Tuesday. I'm really nervous! 2ww period is so tough. It's good to know I'm not alone.

Hcg shot leaves soon for me, I have tested before around 6dpo and it was out of my system. 5 days post iui is too soon, start testing again on 10 dpo and if you make it to 14dpo, then really after that, you could see a bfp for sure! Hang in there, I know, the wait s u c k s . I had an iui last Monday, so I am 6dpo right now and will start testing on Thursday.
