Snowflake Baby

Well, after many conversations with two clinics, I think all of our prior plans are being pushed aside. *sigh*  I am going home soon to reconfirm with Tim that he is ok with embryo adoption. It looks like a "snowflake baby" is the most economical route. After learning of all the hidden costs with using a known donor for eggs (my sister), the price tag is just getting too high. I mean, if there was a guarantee, I would do it. But, there is a strong likelyhood we will have to repeat the process.  The dr I first saw has many cryo-preserved embryos waiting to be adopted. If we were to use donor eggs it wouldn't be my dna anyway. So what difference does it make if it's not Tim's either, right? I am sorry if I am babbling.  I just feel like all of you know me so much better than anyone when it comes to these topics. If the 1st transfer didn't take, we would be financially able to try a couple more times. If we fail with donor eggs, we may not be able to swing another try. What do yo think? To me, it's adoption with the wonderful bonus of getting to carry and give birth to my child.

OMG! That totally made me laugh..."Frosty"...LOL! Sounds like your DH has a good sense of humor about it all ;-) I think adopting a frozen embryo (or two) is a great idea! Best of luck, Tina!

Thanks ladies *sniff* (wipes tears away)  I just mourned my 43rd bday. I haven't had a bfp since 7/7/07 and it was short lived. My last mc with a healthy baby was 1/4/07. It's been almost 2 yrs since we lost him. I just don't have time left. Most clinics won't do IVF even if you are over 44. I want to spend the time I have with the baby, not trying to have one. I have wasted too much time already. The cold hard facts are, over 40, the odds are slim. I'm not saing impossible, just VERY slim.

Tim and I talked about it in length last night and it's definitely a snowflake for us. I did have to put my foot down when Tim started suggesting names like "Frosty", lol. I just want to "Git 'er done"!!!!
