Time frame to wait

After d & e for medical reason, why is it advised to wait a few months to try to conceive? What risks are there prior to waiting 3 months?

Your uterine lining needs time to recover from having been artificially cleaned out, as well.   That it has recovered, is shown by having at least one normal cycle and normal period, which doesn't include the partial cycle after the D&E.

I'm so sorry about your loss and hope you'll have excellent results next time.

I'm sorry for your loss. A m/c is very traumatic on your body. A d and c or a d and e is very envasive on your body it's more surgical than natural and the worst thing you can do is rush your recovery. Some of the reasons they tell you to wait a few cycles is because you run the risk of infection as well as it's not good to have your uterus contract at all. That is why dr's always say don't become dehydrated drink drink and rest and relax. It's also a emotional recovery too. Although there is no time limit on either or and in fact some women can recover sooner or later it's really individual however it's imperaitve to really listen to your dr and wait until he or she says it's ok to begin ttc. I hope you feel better soon.
