3 ivf's

Hi, I'm 32 and I just finished up my third ivf in December.  The first one I did failed the 2nd was ectopic and the the third I was just told did not take.  The third one I was on Menupur, Follistin and Repunex.  Sorry for the spelling. I was supposed to get my period on the 5th, but it still has not come.  Every month I am early except for the months I had the ectopic pregnancy.  Is the medicine that I took during this ivf making my period late?  I am cramping, but the cramps go away.  I don't know what's going on. I'm also wondering if anyone had 2 Ivf's that failed and another one that was ectopic.  My husband and I are very frustrated and upset that we don't know what to do next.

Hi Allie,

How are you doing? It's so nice that you are thinking about us! We have been posting on a thread 2ww buddies Part #3.

I'm due to have my blood test tomorrow so I'm pretty nervous! I couldn't wait any longer and tested this morning though and it turned out to be a BFP! I can't quite believe it so I'm waiting for the blood test tomorrow before I get excited. I'm just hoping that its real!! I'll keep you posted tomorrow.

I hope you are well! :)

Hello Chrissie,

Don't worry too much about not having symptoms today, perhaps your acupuncture has helped with those too, also a lot of people don't have any symptoms when they're first pregnant, so you just never know. Praying for BFPs all round next week! :)

Your painting sounds great, is it watercolours or oils? Much more fun than doing homework ;) I like to paint too, I've been working with acrylics ... although not recently, I haven't picked up a brush in ages! I like to do landscapes though, not very good at painting people ... can't get the noses right :(

Well I'd best get back to the homework :(  I'm half way through now, yeah!

Take care and lots of SSBD!

Hi Rachel
Yeah I think the acupuncture did help.. I am not having any symptoms at all now though which is not a good sign. I feel fine.

Sounds like it could be good news if you keep getting a faint line, thats excellent news, Lets just hope you get a strong blue line on thursday.

I painted a cow for my friend the one I see yesterday, shes a vet & loves cows.
I did a woman the other day. Not sure what to do next got another week.. I should be doing homework I just dont want the pressure of it ha ha so am being naughty & leaving it to the last minute..

Hope you have a good weekend too, take it easy

Hi Chrissie,

I'm glad yo hear your doing well today and that you had a lovely day yesterday! Sounds like your acupuncture session did you a world of good. I'm glad to hear it.

You're very good not to have tested ... I just couldn't help myself, I think it's an addiction at this point lol. Sorry I though you meant you were testing this saturday, I'm sure testing at 13dpo should be ok. My test is on Thursday (it was 12 days from transfer rather than 14), DH is saying its not long now to wait but I still wish it was tomorrow! I tested again today and it was still a faint line, not sure what that means, I was thinking it was just because it was a different brand of test. I'm going to stop torturing myself and wait until thursday!

I know what you mean about clothes not fitting anymore ... I'm wearing the baggiest clothes I own at the moment and feeling very bloated, definitely not good ... but hopefully a good sign for us?

What are you painting, is it watercolours? That should be very relaxing! Unfortunately I have coursework to do today :( but the sooner I get it done the sooner I can do something nice!

Take care and sending you lots of baby dust

Love Rachel x

I hope you're having a nice weekend

Hi there
sorry didnt get back to you earlier, I was out most of the day, which was lovely.
My hubby goes away next saturday so I will be 13dpo, so only 2 days before I am supposed too.

I havent done a test at all yet I have been a good girl although how I dont know.

I am feeling ok today, the acupuncture went well & breathing is back to normal, so that is good.

Have been doing some painting as well to take my mind off things, my boobs dont feel as tender now so thats not a good sign, I have put on quite a lot of weight though, none of my clothes fit properly, not good..

That sounds promising a faint line praying for your BFP when is your offical test day? is it next saturday?.

Hope your chilling out & having a good weekend, my hubby is almost certain I am pg will be hard breaking it to him if I am not..

Lots of love & baby dust to you

Anya,

I hope the treatment works for you and you'll have success soon! Maybe getting ovulation sorted is all that you'll need. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! :)

Take care

Hi, thank you for nice words..
Im starting Metforman tomorrow to get Ovulation for one round and if that one doesn't work, then will move to injectables..I don't believe you can have IUI if you are not Ovulating..so first, RE needs to get me O and then if natural way wound't help, we will do IUI..see, my hubby also has low count, so IUI is our best chance..but my RE thinks that its too early for that...
so yeah...I ws just reading a lot that many ladies have m/c and ectopic pregnancy...and i was wondering what are the chances!

Please don't be discouraged Anya, I think the chances of the embryo drifting into the fallopian tube aren't very high. I'm sure it's just the case that we are warned of all of the possibilities before we have any treatment so that we can be prepared for anything.

Are you starting ivf or IUI soon?

I wish you lots of luck and SSBD xx

That is upseting..I was hoping that IVF and IUI will guarantee more than that...basically, everyone can get ectopic pregnancy or m/c..that is discouraging :(

Hi Anya,

I believe Allie is right, the embryo can still drift into the fallopian tube after it is transfered during ivf ... not sure about IUI though, I've never done this.

Anya, I think that when they put the embryo back in the uterus, it must travel around in there and go back up the fallopian tube.  At least that is what it sounds like to me.....

I don't understand, how can someone has an ectoptic pregnancy if doing IUI or IVF? How is that possible?
Thank you,
Anya.

Hello Chrissie,

How are you today, did you enjoy lunch with your friend? I hope getting out of the house and doing something nice took your mind off things! How was your acupuncture session ... relaxing? I did acupuncture a few months ago but didn't start back when I started ivf ... silly really, it would have helped me I'm sure.

It's so easy to spend all day obsessing, even though I'm back at work I end up spending a lot of time looking at my calendar, wishing it was next week and counting the days ... it must be 10 times harder for you at home!

How are you feeling, any more cramps? I've had some more today but they had stopped yesterday. I'm praying this is a good sign and there are a couple of BFPs on their way for us! :)

Its a real shame your husband will be away for your test! I don't see any harm in testing on saturday, it will be 5 days after your transfer won't it? so that's like 8dpo, it may still be early but if it's a BFN at least you will know that the trigger is out your system so if you test again a couple of days later and it's a BFP you won't be wondering if its just that. Definitely test first thing in the morning though, because I read that the hormone concentrates in your system over night so there's a better chance of detecting it if your testing early. I must admit I caved under the pressure and tested yesterday! (would be 5dpt) I had tested last week, once after my hcg trigger (just to see what a BFP looks like ... I've never had one!!) I tested a few days after and it was a lighter line, then I tested on Monday and it was a BFN so I'm thinking that the trigger is out of my system now. My test yesterday looked like there was a very faint line, DH says it's wishful thinking but I'm going to test again tomorrow morning and see what happens ... I'll keep you posted.

Good luck for your test tomorrow & sending you loads of SSBD! let me know how it goes!

Take care

Hi rachel
its driving me crazy, I have constant butterflies! & have had cramps too.
But they seem to have gone today. I had a bit of a panic attack last night not good!
I have asthma anyway but I think being home is just sending me mad, I have arranged to see a friend tomorrow & have an acupuncture session in the hope that I dont continue winding myself up..

I think cramps are a good sign lets hope so..

That is really sweet that your friend made you a choc box. My hubby is gonna be away when I do my test bad timimng really as I am 2 weeks late due to a cyst.

I might do it early on the saturday before he goes? what do you think it will only be 3 days early..

I do feel a bit tearful as well but think thats just all the hormones..

Chat soon take it easy

Hi Chrissie,

How are you doing today? Sorry I didn't reply sooner ... been snowed under with coursework and wasn't able to log on. I hope you're feeling ok, don't worry about lifting the bag of biscuits, I'm sure it won't affect anything! If you think about it most people don't know they're pregnant this early on and do lots of exercise and other things! Please don't worry! I know it's hard not too ... I've been going out of my way to avoid bumps in the road when I'm driving ... probably not going to matter really but it makes me feel better. :)

So how are you holding up? The waiting is driving me crazy ... I don't know about you! I've been having cramps and thinking it's a really good sign (a lot of my friends have said they had cramps really early on in their pregnancies) but then its probably my imagination! Have you been having any symptoms or feeling any different?

One of my close friends I work with left me a wee box of handmade chocs on my desk today with a note saying there was a choc for each day I have to wait before my test. It really cheered me up, it was a diversion from obsessing all day!

Take care and sending you lots of SSBDxxx

love

Hi there
It was a bit of a shock, they said they would have made it til wednesday but feel they would grow better in me. Hopefully if they others are still ok they will be frozen on wednesday.

I keep getting that butterfly feeling in my stomach, you know when your excited & nervous at the same time I am hoping its not gonna harm them as I cant seem to stop it.

Yeah my diploma is going ok, its better than last year as I was doing 3 at the same time (reflexology, anatomy & physiology & indian head massage) I have  my own beauty salon & wanted to extend my treatment range.

your one sounds like hard work (but then a degree is)!! I have booked 2 weeks off work as its quite a physical job massage etc.. Although it makes the 2 ww a little longer have already watch films 1 to 5 harry potter.  I have a bit of a belly ache today i lifted up a box of dog biscuit for my doggies breakfast I just didnt think I hope that hasnt effected anything.

I am gonna find another film to watch now dont know what, going a bit stir crazy & its only been a couple of days.

Sending lots of SSBD & love

Hi there 2ww buddy! :)

I'm really pleased that all is going well and all are developing well. It must have been a surprise to get the call about your transfer today! I don't know about you but I feel better that I have the little embies with me rather than them sitting in a lab!

It's good you're taking it easy today ... gives them the best chance of settling in, sending lots of SSBD! :)  How is your diploma going, do you have lots of work to do for it? My masters is in Regulatory Affairs, it's related to my job its about the regulations for bringing new pharmaceutical products onto the market, it's a lot of reading. What are we like ... as if we didn't already have enough going on? :) Although it will help to keep us occupied over the next 2wks.

I stayed off work today just to have one more quiet day, I know they say that it doesn't really affect things either way but it makes me feel like I'm doing everything I can although being at work would probably take my mind off things.

So here we are on the dreaded 2ww! I know what you mean ... it's nerve racking but at the same time you can't help but get excited! Is your test still going to be on the same day even though they transferred earlier? I'm feeling ok at the moment, I thought I was having some cramps earlier but I don't know if I'm just imagining things ... it's probably still too early to feel anything. How are you feeling, was your transfer ok? Did they give you valium to take? I had some during my transfer and it made me feel quite strange, didn't like that too much.

Well I'm going to finish off my book, I've been reading the Northern Lights, I'm really enjoying it. Enjoy the rest of your day and keep your feet up :)

SSBD all round! x

Hi rachel
Well they phoned me today & even though all have divided & doing well they think the 2 best ones would grow better in me, so had my transfer today.

I am taking it easy just gonna put my feet up & watch dvds, I loved the 7th harry potter cant wait til it comes out on film. I should be reading up on my course work too im doing a diploma on aromatherapy. What are you doing your masters on? (or is MSc the subject if so I havent a clue what it is).

I did see a picture of my embryos but they didnt give it to me. They have put 2 back in and are keeping the others til wednesday if they make it I am gonna have them frozen.

So I am now on the 2ww with you. How are you feeling any symptoms or different feelings?  Its exciting & nerve racking at the same time..

Sending you lots of SSBD
Take it easy, love your 2ww buddy
