Thanks, I guess I am a bit nervous because the HSG hurt so much. I think it is because i have a block tube and the other looked inflamed so maybe it hurt a little more than others. They want to do this one as the pressure from the HSG can actually make the muscle spasm which can make it look closed as well as it can balloon the other tube if there is weakness. This test he said was more gentile and would give him a better assessment of what they look like. i really don't want to have to get my left tube removed but if i have to I have to :( once again thanks for the experience info....best of luck to everyone
Mine didn't hurt at all. The nurse and doctor both told me it will pinch but I was ok. To top it all off I had medical students working on me so it's not as if they were experienced or anything. What bothered me the most was the solution drizzling out. My husband came with me for support as they were making sure everything was ok and there was no adhesions or scarring and I was afraid I'd lose it if there was. For him the hardest part was witnessing 5 strangers touching his wife. He says he should of just turned his back and looked at the screen even if he had no clue what was on it.
Good luck and try not to stress too much
I went for my sono last month and it wasn't that bad. It was just a little uncomfortable, maybe you'll feel a little pressure but that's about it. And yes, like has been said, it's basically to see what's going on in there and the position of things so they know where to implant the embryos later :-)
Much luck to you!!!
Thanks for the info it's seems like not many have had to go for this test....
Hi stressed118!
I had a sonohysterogram during my trial transfer, too, and it didn't hurt at all (although, my HSG didn't hurt much either). As for b/c, I wasn't on it, since I have Factor V and have a higher chance of developing blood clots. I just had to make sure not to BD around ovulation and then start lupron once ovulation had been confirmed.
Best of luck to you!
Yes i believe it is the same thing, but he also wants to take a good look at my ovaries as well as my tubes. I think it's the same process as they clamp on to the cervix and flush it with saline solution. I know the bcps is weird right? you spend so much time off them and now you have to take them....i just hope i don't get any side affects :) best wishes to you as well.
Hi. I just started bcps last night & it was a strange feeling going to the pharmacy to get them & then taking them! =) I don't know about a sono, but I do have a trial transfer scheduled for 6/15. Maybe it's a similar experience?? I'm told the trial transfer is to assess the shape of the cervix & the depth of the uterus so that the actual transfer can be as comfortable as possible. Best wishes to you!!! =)
