I just scheduled an appt for June 3rd as I couldn't get in any earlier due to my schedule, but I am so excited to hear that although it isnt a guarantee, that it is a positive experience for most.  I too have had a failed IVF w/ICSI and this is our last shot at it.  I am also trying to eat healthier (fertility diet) and destress with yoga hopefully.

We will keep our fingers crossed!

I did accupuncture with our 3rd cycle of ivf.  My uterine lining was thicker and better, and the quality of my eggs were better, though this may have been because of a different protocal.  In the end we had a chemical pregnancy (which I think is a nice way of them saying an early miscarriage).

We are getting ready to start our FET cycle and will be doing accupuncture again.
I enjoyed the sessions - very relaxing and often fell asleep once the needles were in. It was a nice break from work and responsibilities for an hour or so.... off to la-la land, thinking of babies...

I have read a few recent articles about acupuncture and increased success of IVF by at times 40%.  I've been going for a month and my next cycle is 1st week of June.   Why not try?  5000 years of chinese medicine deserves respect even if we don't completely understand it.  I agree if really is relaxing and a great time just to slow down for 1/2 hour and think positively about becoming pregnant.  Good luck everyone!

My acupunturist says that once a week for two to three months is what he was taught in school.  He is a regular MD who went back to school for acupunture recently.  I started late - one month before my IVF so I went twice a week for one month.  It doubled the number and improved the quality of my eggs - they could tell because the embyos looked and devided better.  It also made me very relaxed.  We were not successfull this time but I did have embryos left over to try again with.  I am 40 with high fsh so I have problems from my age to begin with. I will go back again to have him stimulate the lining of my uterus before we transfer.

My RE was so blown away with the way it increased the number of my eggs that he is now referring patients to this doctor.  I was told that after he saw my number and quality of eggs that he called the acupunturist and said,"ok, there is something to this - when can we meet?"  I highly recommend it.

I have been doing accupuncture for 3 months, 1-2 times per week.  My accupuncturist said that going just before transfer does not make a difference, as it takes time to make changes with this kind of treatment.  It can't hurt though, and it is really relaxing, so why not?!?

ChrisHealy on the 35+ site used acupunture for a month before IVF and then did it one hour before and one hour after IVF.  She got pregnant on her first IVF round at 43 and is due soon!
I am going to try this as well.

I have been doing acupuncture for a couple months.  My last IUI I had a chemical (first time I ever had a pos. test).  I will be starting IVF stims in 2 weeks.. and continuing with my acupuncture.  My acupuncturist said the most crucial time is immdiately after egg transfer.  She is super busy but told me I have to come in immdiately after ET so she will make room for me.  I go every week and if anything, it relaxes me.. almost like a massage.
