baby aspirin - should I be taking it after BFP w/Prometrium?

The nurse at my OB's office mentioned baby aspirin for blood flow, but I'm not sure if that was just during the trying phase that I was supposed to be taking it?  I kept forgetting to get some, so I haven't taken any yet.  Now that I have my BFP, is it safe?  I'm on Prometrium and I heard it can slow your blood flow, and last night my sister said that's what they determined was the problem with her friend when she m/c'd and once she took baby aspirin she had a healthy pregnancy.  I'm not one for pills, even when I'm not pregnant, but if it's a pill that's gonna help me keep this baby I'll do it!  Any thoughts?

Thanks - I'm trying to hang in there.  Still spotting which is definitely keeping me on edge, but I'm trying to stay calm as long as it stays spotting.  I finally got a BFP on my FRER this morning, so that made me feel much better.  If that hadn't happened, I don't think I would've been very optimistic.  Definitely crampy, but also sleep deprived because I just can't seem to sleep anymore.  At least this is the first day I was able to nap.  I just hope if this doesn't work that af hold out til my follow-up tests tomorrow.  I'd rather find out from a blood test than be getting af - less traumatic.  I'm still rooting for the little one though... go baby! go baby!  you can do it! :o)

Next time your in the docs office ask if it could help..  I never had any problem with progesterone in the passed.  I don't think it would hurt to take it.

Well it was just the nurse, and she simply suggested it - but it wasn't based on anything personal or having to do with my health.  It was actually at my intake appt (I'd just switched OBGYN's) and I'd just had my IUI 2 days before.  I've never had any problems with blood clots, but I heard that progesterone does thicken your blood and can cause them.  I'm more concerned about blood flow for the baby.

If your doc. says to take it, I would.  Do you get blood clots?  Then it will help with the blood flow to the uterus.  I really don't think it would do anything wrong. Prometrium is progesterone, and has no side effects with aspirin.  Good luck, Elizabeth
