ANy gonatropin/antagonist procals for IVF work, and not with a regular cycle

  Has anyone had a failed IVF cycle?  and then start a gonotropin/antagonist IVF cycle that worked better for you?  My embryo qualities were poor with regular cycles and were hoping to change this next cycle to improve quality bc im young with no know problems?  Any suggestions are much appreciated(:

Everybody is different and I believe each women will find one protocol worked better for her than others did. I responded well with both but as they started me with the long lupron protocol as it is considered the "ideal protocol" by my RE at least. I was a quick responder and my estrogen started to go up really fast. they were so worried about hyperstimulation that they tried to slow things down. long story short, my stimulation and estrogen levels were all over the map and that's why it probably resulted in grade C embryos with nothing viable to freeze.
RE decided to try Antagonist for the second cycle and she thought I would do better and she was right. she used a lower dose of stims too which I believe made a big difference because overstimulating can be in the expense of egg quality.
I had much better embryos, 2 grade A and 8 celled which is almost perfect..few 8 celled grade B and 1 grade C..
This was a huge improvement for me and I was able to freeze 3!
So yes Antagonist worked best for me but I also believe that the lower dose and the smooth stimulation have a big role and it's not just the protocol itself.

does one or the other make better eggs? The RE  I see now says the long lupron protocol produces better eggs. But the RE I saw to get a second opinion said that that isn't true.  So now I don't know who to believe.  The short protocol seems much easier shot-wise...

just an update! I am pregnant! u already know how the Antagonist protocol worked wonderful for me in terms of egg quality! have a feeling it will work for you too!
Do not let them overstimulate you thu... a small dose would work best I believe! it's not about egg quantity after all.

I have done both.  I had a m/c with long lupron protocol.   I did my 3rd IVF with antagonist.  I basically got the same amount of eggs.  I am ranging 7-8.
This cycle I found out I am pregnant (as of friday)  Wishing you lots of luck.
If you google the antagonist I have read many people have luck with it.
