My Story...it's been tough

Wow. It's been a very long time since I've been here.

Here's my story...

In 2007, we lost our baby boy when I was 20 weeks pregnant. His chromosomes we horribly damaged and he had fetal hydrops. As you can imagine, DH and I were devastated.

In 2008, we saw an RE. At this point I'm 40+ y.o. We did Clomid and 2 IUIs with no success. I learned on my 41st birthday that I was not a candidate for IVF. Awesome birthday, right? Our RE said I had virtually no chance of conceiving.

So now I'm 44 (and a half!) and we haven't tried to conceive in about 2 years. Until...this cycle I got the idea in my advanced maternal-aged head that I wanted to try - if just one more time. I have a friend here that was told she had no chance of conceiving and she just had a baby boy. I was thinking about her, and what an inspiration she is, and that made me want to try. We have been in the adoption process for a while, but put it on hold because are both recently out of work :0(

So, we BD on 5/17 and I either O'd that day or the next day. I know I O'ed because I had EWCM and I had O cramps. Today, I'm 6dpo and I have had cramps all day. This evening I had sudden sharp pains on both my left and right sides. The fairly constant cramping is on my left side by my ovaries. I have also had headaches the last two days and they are weird! I've gotten about 5 or 6 headaches and they each lasted about 30 seconds. Weird, huh? Tonight I experience fluttering and a tugging sensation in my belly. I thought it was gas, but it didn't seem to be.

So, I think I'm grasping at straws here, but I can't help but think (hope??) this might be implantation cramping.

Have you had implantation cramping? What dpo was it on? What did it feel like?

Did you have any headaches?

How many days after the cramping can you get an accurate test?

Sue, it's 3 am here in TX and I could not wait any longer.  I got a bfp.  Hoping so very hard the life is fair you you get some good news this cycle as well.
Had only one symptom last night: very dizzy.

I seriously don't see how I could be pregnant. I mean, I'm 44 and was told 3 years ago I only had 2-3% chance we could conceive. I just don't see how it could happen. We are perfectly happy and excited about adopting. We just both need to get jobs and re-start the process. Either way, everything will work out.

I knew you will not be able to stay away from the stick, sorry about bfn.  I think I will test tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday before my beta.  it will be sooo hard!!

I feel so weird today! I realize I'm extremely overtired because of my sleep issues and yesterday we majorly cleaned the house. So, I know why my muscles are sore, mostly the back of my legs. I slept for about 2 hours this afternoon and I felt just as icky when I woke up.. I just feel unwell overall and I have this weird pressure at the top of my diaphragm. I've had it all day. I do have a metallic taste in my mouth for the 3rd time, cramps again today, and moderately sore bbs.

As I predicted I would, I tested again today, 10 dpo. So silly! Too early.

Ho hum... 2 more days To go until 12 dpo.

I feel the same about you. If you got. BFP I would be very happy. You are such a kind person and I want you to be happy. I don't particularly like thinking of you crying alone in your office. That sounds awful :0(

Knowing me, I'll test all up through 12dpo. I'm a POAS addict. I fully admit it!

Do you have any "symptoms?" I've just got some cramping today, but not like yesterday. Yesterday, the cramps were strong and sharp. I was really tired yesterday, too, but today I feel okay. My bbs are sore on the outsides - they always are before AF - but AF isn't due until 6/3. I don't know. I just think I want it so badly that I'm "inventing" symptoms. The metallic taste in mouth is real, though. I had it last night and I have it now. I just don't know what to think. I have the feeling that I will get AF. I am so rooting for you, though!!!

Stay strong Sue!  I am having a hard time not testing myself but I am determined not to ruin my weekend.  I'll test first thing Monday.  That way I can go to my office, lock the door and cry there.  
Your bfp would surely cheer me up though!!!!!

Testing on 8 dpo is just goofy. Must wait 4 more days. I can do it (I think!).

I just noticed that I just developed a metallic taste in my mouth. I sometimes get this a day or two before AF. It's a pretty strong taste. Also, I feel like I have extra saliva all of a sudden. So weird. Can you imagine that I could be pg at 44 after being told I can't?? It would be a miracle or sure!

Sue, whats a tragic lost, 20weeks seem settle down for me. I believe in miracle and wish you and Helen will have BFP this time.

I got BFP on Mon 21 May and doctor has confirmed my pregnancy 2days later when i got another hcg test. It brings happiness into my life. Now I told myself not to have too high hope til I got the ultra scan and confirmation of where my embryo's implanted and the development of the little one. I hope there will be no bad things happen.

I am also a big believer that 12 dpo is the earliest. 5 years ago, I got a negative on 11dpo and a fairly clear positive on 12 dpo. I will definitely post when I test on 5/29 in 4 days.

So nice to see your post!!!
The earliest bfp that I saw on here was at 8 dpo but most do not get a positive test till 12 dpo.  FRER is most sensitive and claims they can detect a positive 6 days early.  
Please post when you test!!!

I feel very fatigued today. And, for the last 2 days, I felt like I had fluid or CM but when I checked there was nothing. Kind of weird and annoying. Headache again today. I rarely get headaches. I guess it could be allergies. Testing on the 29th.
