clomiphene

I'm on my first cycle of Clomiphene 50mg.  I was wondering if I could get some feedback on when others started noticing any side effects. I'm taking them cd 5-9, and i'm only on cd 8 now.  I'm an pretty emotional person as it is under the best of conditions so i'm hoping to get a little foresight on when I should really make sure i'm paying attn, as it could just be the clomiphene.  I've got a couple of busy weeks comeing up... lots of family gatherings etc and I want to make sure i'm at least trying to be on my best behaviour or that I can at lease legitimately blame the meds for my emotional outbursts lol. ty in advance for your answers :)

I have mood swings (like crying for no reason, getting irritated at things which I dont when I am not on it etc), Creamy CM, hot flashes, severe headache, nausea, tired and sleepy and very rarely dizziness. The moment I stop them, things disappear. But I learnt that each women is different and will not have all the symptoms. They vary cycle to cycle. My first and 3rd round I had all the above mentioned symptoms. 2nd one was quieter and no side effects at all. All 3 cycles I felt tingling effects in the tummy.

I was on Clomid for 4 cycles.  My first month on it, around day 20, I had really bad cramps.  After AF arrived, and I went for my day 3 us - it revealed a large cyst on my R ovary.  But it wasn't big enough for my RE to hold Clomid for month 2.  I was really nervous that my cyst would get bigger (and more painful!) but it didn't, and by my day 3 us - it was gone.  After 3 Clomid cycles, then 1 IUI with Clomid & Ovidrel, and 200mg Progesterone, we are pregnant!  But now I have a large corpus luteum cyst on my R ovary (I think he said 5cm x 3cm?!) . .  Good Luck!

Like Candie, clomid made me very snappy, especially at DH, although, I don't remember it making me weepy.  I also had som pretty bad hot flashes as well.  Like BabyBlue it also thinned my lining, so my RE also switched me Letrozole (a.k.a Femera).

Hope this is your month.

I am one of those people that cry at the drop of a hat and I noticed that Clomid made me much more weepy.  I'm also usually pretty easy-going and relaxed, but while I was on the clomid, I would snap at my poor DH for no good reason.  I was on it last fall for 4 months, so I can't quite remember when my side effects started, but I know it was during the 2nd half of my cycle.  It also gave me hot flashes, so watch out for those too.  Everyone is different though, so hopefully you'll make it through OK.  :)   All the best to you and I hope that the Clomid allows your wishes to come true!

Clomid could give you thin uterus lining. be careful with that. I was on Clomid for 5 cycles and it did make my lining thin for eggs to implant.  The doctor change to Femera.

good luck
