I completely understand the fact that they want to check to make sure everything is ok. I did have some cysts they found when they did the lap that they removed. I haven't been on any fertility meds since than and also now for a fact that there is NO change I can be pregnant because my husband had a vasectomy 11 years ago. I guess I'll have to suck it up and do what I have to do. Hopefully this will be the last time in a llooooong time that I have to do this again. I'm getting excited to get back on the boat again. We've been on a break since March I think? I should be getting AF next week!
I just got my IUI cycle cancelled because of the cysts from the med I used last cycle.
And also they really want to make sure that you are NOT pregnant if you will be on the meds since some women keep having cycles throughout the pregnancy.
Good luck!!!
The internal ultrasounds are painless. The can be a bit embarrasing, but painless. I have had 10 or 12 of them over the last 8 months. I'm glad that you are being monitered. I much prefer that over just doing home OPK's as they know exact size and numbers. It helps with the timing. DH and I decided that it was worth the extra money for hte monitering because we were making bigger chances of paying more for the next month's IUI than just adding the extra stuff.
Good Luck!! I know this works!!! I am 5 weeks along!!
that doesn't sound too exciting for me either actually.....yucky...
Hi nevaeh! Hope you're doing well! REs usually like to do a CD3 exam to make sure that you A) don't have a any cysts from the previous cycle (especially if you're on fertility meds) and B) that you have a good number of antral follicles. Oh, and it's just a regular transvaginal ultrasound.
Best of luck to you this cycle!
I had this done by my RE when I got AF after my m/c. I had a CD3 u/s so they could look at the ovaries and measure them and see how many follies you have and look and see how you uterus is (if it's tilted or anything), etc. before ovulation. It was gross to me because I don't like having any kind of exams down there when AF is visiting, but I was assured that they do it all the time and it's no big deal to them.
