thanks ladies, the office isn't an option and he isn't liking the idea of the BR at the hospital lab. i am glad to read that heather reports an hour is ok for drop off. we live 25 min from the hospital. I work at the hospital and know most everyone in the lab so the idea of a home "deposit" sounds much better.
My husband also did the test at the Dr. Office. Although less private, I think it was best as the lab was right there and less chance of him having to do again.
My DH collected the samples at home...both for our IUIs and when we did our IVF. It seemed a lot less stressful than having to "perform" on site. Our RE was OK with home collection as long as we could get the sample in within an hour.
My husband "collected" in teh clinic. It was a good test to how well he will perform on the retrieval day and whether a back up plan is needed! I was tense on that day but of course did not tell him so as not to put any pressure on him. He collected fine on retrieval day.
for us we had to live within 30 min of the lab, which we don't. So dh had to make the "deposit" in the bathroom at the lab, it made things difficult for him.
