On Clomid & Trigger shot now slow rising HGC levels in week 5

I had a miscarriage and had to take methotrexate in January 2011 to stop a pregnancy in which my HGC levels were dropping.  I was HGC level was a aprox 100 when it stopped increasing.  I am now 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant and my HGC levels were more than doubling for each blood draw (spaced 2 days apart) up until this Friday.  I was at 1030 on Wednesday/1600 on Friday and was at 1730 as of Monday (today).  I had an ultrasound today and they said everything looked great and I had a healthy sac but we did not hear a heartbeat at this time.  The nurse called and told me my HGC results after the ultrasound and said it wasnt normal for the HGC level to only go up 130 in the space of Friday-Monday.  What does this mean?  Please help me!  I was on clomid and also took the trigger shot.  I am already on HGC suppositories as well.  Please help me figure out what is going on with me!

Thank you so much for your response!  I went back yesterday and had another ultra sound which the ultrasound tech said looked good even though there was little growth from Monday-Thursday.  I also got my hCG levels drawn again and they went from 1730-1843 from monday-thursday which they said wasn't a good sign.  I have read so many different things that this could possibly mean that it is very frustrating and heartbreaking.  I have to go back in on MOnday for another blood draw and ultrasound and then will discuss the "next steps" with the doctor.  Any recommendations for questions I should be asking her or things we should be looking for to help influence any choices  we may have to make?  I am 31 and in perfect health otherwise so it is very confusing why this is happening again.

Hello and hope you are doing well.
The earliest when you can hear fetal heart beat on ultrasound is around 6 weeks or so. The hCG level usually double every 31 to 72 hours. As the pregnancy progresses, hCG levels rise and the doubling time increases. These levels rise during the first 6 to 10 weeks of pregnancy then decline slowly during the second and third trimesters. It may be that a woman may have low hCG levels and still result in a healthy baby. It is important to correlate the HCG results with ultrasound since they are much more accurate. You should discuss your concerns with your attending doctor. Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
