irregular cycles

Hi iam 21 ever since I have started my menstral cycles thay never have been regular I was proscribed birth control at 14 to regulate me and I was on that for about 6yrs and now my cycles are from 3 to 4 a year..iam very worried because I want kids someday ...I have a fear this will prevent me from having kids..because I never know when I ovulate or when iam expecting a period..how can I regulate without bc and will it be hard for me to get pregnant not to mention geting married

I got my period yesterday for the first time since august...I'm 4'9 116 and I know they have this tea that helps and I know folks that helped them get cycles back regular I'm going to try..because it will hurt me too not have a child

Hey Sadie,
I also was like you in college with hardly periods, and took birth control to regulate the periods. They didn't come regularly and also were around 3 times a year. I'm now 29 and having difficulty getting pregnant. It could be that your underweight. My BMI was very low so I had to stop being so active and needed to eat more. Also, some women who are overweight also stop getting periods so losing weight is a solution I've heard as well. You should get a period,it is healthy. Although I LOVED not getting one, its not natural and you aren't ovulating regularly. I hope this helps because at 21  I wish I would have known what i know now once we are trying to get pregnant.
