I honestly think it is not very likely to happen unless you are somehow misreading the OPK? Remember that the test line needs to be significantly darker than the control line, not just any color for it to be considered a surge. I can't think of what else it could be... if you're not on any fertility meds and you have a history of very regular periods, I don't see why it would be delayed this time, but I guess it is possible once in a while. Best of luck :)
It is possible for the OPKs to give you several days of positives which makes it hard to know exactly when you ovulated. I have had 5 or 6 days of positives before. Stress can also mess things up and make your AF late. I had a month that the same thing happened to me and couldn't figure it out. My doctor said that stress can sometimes delay your AF so it isn't exactly 14 days after. All the stress of TTC can catch up with you. It is possible you ovulated late too. I hope it works out that you are pregnant though! Good luck.
By the way, I wanted to tell you that it is really hard to get accurate results with OPKs, they can be off sometimes. That is why I start tracking other ways. I check for EWCM and I check my cervix. I have been able to tell when I ovulate within a 1/2 a day by knowing my cervical positions. I also got my first BFP that way. You can go online to see how to do it.
thanks for the insight.
I am sure the OPK's were positive. I know how to read the lines. They were the same color as control line or darker. The tests I buy indicate that it needs to be the same color or darker... and days prior it was a light line, so I know that those two days I did have positive OPK.
Just no period, it's very weird. Because I thought period automatically comes 14 days ofter O, and according to OPK, I O'ed on the 29th... and here we are on the 14th, and no period!
Guess I will just try to be patient, and relax.... hard thing to do when you're TTC!
:)
thanks, I will try that... I want to start tracking BBT as well.
positive opk's doesn't mean you actually ovulate. I know personally that I have had positive opk's and never ovulated or ovulated late. Your body can try to ovulate (hence the lh surge and positive opk) and fail and then attempt again. You know you ovulate by charting your bbt and is a good idea to use this method in combination with opk and cm.
