egg retreival

Does anyone know if there is any pain experience with egg retreival. i was told i would be sedated and given sedation accordingly. The nuse said she would not lie to me and it wouldnt be without pain. I was told this when dye was squirted into my womb in an investigation to see whether my fallopian tube was blocked and it was very painful and i was given no sedation during this. I am so frightened the same thing will happen. Also i am attending a new clinic Bourne hall in colchester. has anyone ever had egg retreival done there?

They will put you under with anesthia for egg retrieval so you won't feel a thing during the procedure but maybe you'll be sore after. I haven't done this yet but am scheduled for my egg retrieval next week. good luck!

I have had 3 done and never had any pain. I have had nausea from the sedation but that's all. Nothing to worry about at all.

Hi when i did egg retrieval at the end of April, I was sedated and I think the procedure lasted a little over an hour. When i woke however i did have some pain, they did say it was because they had to poke alittle more for one of my ovaries so that was probably why i had more pain than normal. i got pain killers and it really didn't last more than a day. I was pretty bloated for a few days though. Good luck!
