The corpus luteum begins to die soon after the egg is released. If no Hcg is being produced from implatation to "rescue" it, it will be gone shortly after.

I know it will be gone but last cycle when I ovulated it was still there 10 days after the ovulation and it dissapeared after my period
but this time it seems to be weird that it's gone right away - I guess I have no hope of being pregnant this month :(
I'm sorry. It might have been a weak o and that is why it absorbed so quickly. I'm not a professional so I don't for sure.
