multiple miscarriages

I am 34 and just 3 days ago suffered my 4th miscarriage. I have had 1 live birth 14 yrs ago but even that pregnancy was riddled with problems and she was born 2 months early. Now I can get pregnant with ease but the 2 most recent miscarriages have literally been the week I was supposed to have a period. I get a positive early since I am keeping track but the day of my menstral cycle I start bleeding and lose the baby. I havent had any testing since they are so early in that they cant even see the baby with ultrasound. I am wondering if it is just hormonal or genetic. I want to keep trying but am very nervous. ANY ONE else seem to miscarry around their period start date??

Hi,

I would recommend you do get some testing done.  The losses could be due to something treatable like low progesterone, or blood clotting.

I was also told after an early miscarriage it's fine to try again immediately.

After a natural miscarriage (ie. not D&C) in the first trimester they also told me I could try naturally, but they made me wait 1 cycle if I was doing an IUI cycle.

Best wishes

Sunflower and verucasalt133 Both my re and ob told me i could start trying right away after my short term mc like  4 weeks.  as long as i was mentally ready. That is one reason they make u wait. most women cant handle bouncing back that quickly.  My ones i lost at 6 weeks  they followed me back down in the numbers. the other two they told me it was up to me when i started trying again, but to at least wait for my next period.   I would say try again and just dont test until u miss your period.

Hi Honey,

You were wondering if the reasons you are having miscarriages are hormonal or genetic? I do not know.  Only your doctor can answer that.

As for you wanting to keep trying to conceive.  I think you should wait.  The body is still very fertile after you have a miscarriage.  But doctors have recommened that you wait up to three months for your body to heal.

Your next cycle may be longer than you are normally used to, so just don't expect your next AF at the exact time that you always get it. Also, get your blood tested right after a miscarriage your blood level will be very high.

Some doctors wants your blood level to go back to zero before you try again.

I hope this helps.  Be careful be safe and be blessed...
