I think Melissa71 did this. You can check with her/.
It's less expensive per cycle b/c you are not taking the medications. But you still have to pay the dr, operating room and anesthesia fees etc. AND you only get one egg out of it, which of course reduces your chances. But it would be nice not to have to take all that medication...
If you do multiple natural ivf cycles, it would end up being more expensive per egg b/c you can get multiple eggs in traditional ivf and one at a time in natural.
Sorry I'm jumping in so late, but I see nobody grabbed that one... My understanding is that natural cycle IVF is actually cheaper and less medicated. It only works for women that ovulate on their own and don't need meds for that. From what I know, they monitor your follicles and when they're mature (on their own), they still retrieve them via surgery and from here it takes the same route as all IVFs - fertilization in a dish, transfer to your uterus. I guess it could take months to retrieve more than one egg, but if the one that they retrieve the first time is good quality, I don't see why they wouldn't transfer it right away... This is as far as I know; it wasn't an option for me b/c I don't ovulate on my own... Hope it works out for you if that's what you decided to do! I'm sure your fertility clinic could explain the process in detail. Best wishes :)
