Hello There,

I'm new to this site, looking for some support and information.  I will be celebrating my 33rd Birthday this weekend.  I've been married for 14 years and have a 10 1/2 year old daughter. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 10 years, with no luck. So I have an appintment with an infertility Dr. on 6/11 and don't know what to expect. I have only heard of Clomid, but dont know very much about it. I got my FSH levels checked about 2 months ago and my level came back at 6.9. I was told that it was pretty good, but that my problem was that I am not ovulating. My periods are every 35 days, sometimes heavy with lots of clots, but getting better latley.  My question is what can i expect when i meet the Dr. and what can i take to start ovulating???? Is Clomis used to stimulate ovulation? I 3was told years ago that I had PCOS, but after participating in a study for PCOS, I was told that I DONT have it?!? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated welcomed and helpful.

Welcome! Just like krichar said, the dr. will do a bunch of tests to determine how to help you. And yes, Clomid is the first and easiest (and cheapest) way to try to make women ovulate, but, unfortunately, not everyone responds to it. Krichar didn't and neither did I :(  Unfortunately, after a year of treatments, I had to resort to IVF and was successful and I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant! Wish you all the best on your journey! :)

Your story sounds like mine!! The fertility doctor will do alot of tests to find out what you need. There are alot of choices out there so no worries. Just let them do their thing and they will let you know your options. Clomid is suppose to help you ovulate...I never had much luck with it! I hope this works for you!!
