progesterone injection question

I am supposed to take 1 cc of progesterone but there is a lot more in the vial!  It is a lot bigger than menupur.  So, do I discard the vial or reuse it????  I was given 3 vials.  With the menopur I discarded what was opened & unused( of the water).  What do I do?

we switched sides every nite. my dh did the warm compress and the massage. if he gets the right spot its ok after a while. good luck

Yes one vial will last 10 days...have "fun" with the oil shots:)  I had them for 8 weeks!  Ice up your booty first!

I didn't heat mine up, but I did the ice pack on the tush first. Those are some not so nice effects.  But needless to say I guess if we want babies bad enough we take the risk.  I didn't read the package insert for the progesterone, but maybe II will now.  I did read the FSH, Menopur, Lupron, labels and some of the side effects your own body could undergo while taking all this stuff is crazy.  But you and I are going to two of the best REs out our way so I guess we just have to take their word for it.    
Amazingly enough becauase I work in pharmaceuticals, the side effect warnings don't bother me so much because I know how we arrive at the labels.  I work in oncology so imagine what those labels look like.  Just about everything has a black box warning...so basically it could help you live or it could kill you.  But since our patients know they will die eventually they take the risk.  I guess for those of us where IVF is the only option we take the risk or go childless.  This is depressing...
You will be fine and you will not be one of .5% whose kids' peeholes is in the wrond place. :)

I know it doesn't sound very good, but these types of defects (that is if it happens) can be easily fixed, I think.  The benefits (life) outweigh the possible consequences.  Your body would naturally be producing this hormone anyway, the problem is, that your body knows when to increase and decrease the dose.  I think this might be one of the reasons they (RE) still aren't able to figure out how to get these little embies to stick and stay.  The body is remarkable the way it runs itself and it is hard to memic that.

Feeew!!!!!!!  Thankgod I didn't throw it away..... Thank you!!!!!!  Okay, will cont. to use it.  Yes it looks like it can be a week or so supply.  And it is in oil.  I heat it up a little first before ... ice my bottom, inject and then massage with heating pad.  Is this what you do too?  It is such a process but hopefully it will keep the lining in shape for SSBD.  
As a scientist you must have read the insert, right?  SCARY!!!!!!!   I almost don't want to use it even though it is very much a part of the protocal.  It highly recommends that preg. woman or woman who are TTC. should not use it!  It causes minor birth defects in babies when woman used it within the first 4 months.  Boys are born with their pee hole under the shaft and some girls were born with unseperated libias or something like that!!  5-6 out of every 1,000 are born with this disorder and woman using the progesterone to prevent m/c doubles those chances.  *****!  That doesn't sound too good!  What do you think about that???

I assume it is progesterone in oil.  Looks kind of like cooking oil?  The septum (rubber top of the vial) will allow you to put needles in several times so you will reuse that vial each day until it is empty.  I think one vial last like 10 days-should be about 10mL per vial.
