Wow! You can adopt embryos? How does that work?
you could adopt embryos
that way you are doing a good deed - and saving 15 thousand dollars
Sorry to hear that you are going through fertiltiy challenges, but thats exciting to start a journey that may just give you that little one in your arms! : ) there are several different ways i've heard of funding IVF... one of the best ways i've heard of is "shared risk" programs, a lot of the IVF labs do this.. it typically includes 3 IVFs for a set price.. and if no baby results then they cover like 50-75% of it or something like that... and if a baby does result then you pay a certain amount... most clinics offer something to that affect... also there are grants/loans etc that you can get for IVF as well, i'm sure if you googled it you could find info on it.... for us it is $8,000 per cycle of IVF thereabouts..so defintely not cheap, but not AS expensive as some places i've heard... GOOD LUCK!
Factor in that a baby costs an average $500 a month. That is about 6,000 a year not including child care if you need that. So, you don't just want to JUST be ok to have the money for IVF -- you also want to be a little prepared for what happens finance wise once you have the baby. Truthfully, if you are 22 yrs old as your profile states... I would save up and take your time a little. I know that may be hard to hear, but the last thing you want when you have a baby and are strapped is the added financial pressure of dealing with loans you need to pay back for IVF. That kind of pressure can be hard on a marriage as well. 22 is young enough that you should have time on your side and be able to put off the IVF for awhile and save up for baby too.
