Anyone with similar experiences?

Hi all,

I'm completely new to the forum so hi :). I'm a 22 y/o female from the UK and I've been experiencing a few things that may or may not fit with fibro.

- Knees and elbows ache intermittently (couple of times a week at most) at night. The elbow pain is a new addition (two or three days ago). As stated, this is not every night and does not stop me from sleeping however it is uncomfortable. Ibuprofen has helped previously.

- I wake up feeling fatigued and while I wouldn't say I'm sleep deprived, it can sometimes feel that way. It's not always like this.

- My memory is awful and extremely frustrating. My boyfriend my say, can you put the potatoes on and make a cup of tea. It is very likely that I will forget one of those things or forget to take the tea upstairs.

- There are occasions where I feel...tender? Not anywhere specifically but sometimes I just feel like if something touches my arm or back or something, then it will hurt. Very strange feeling.

- My mum passed away in October 2014 and it hit me very hard and I was on anti-depressants for a short time, however I don't feel depressed, I just have bad anxiety that can get me down sometimes.

I have no idea if any of these things are even connected in any way but I thought I'd ask on a forum. At the very least I'll be more educated on it and that's not a bad thing! I have been to the doctor however he put suggested that I might have arthritis (which would also suck). I just wanted your opinions on it :).

Thanks very much, hopefully I haven't missed any info out but all comments are appreciated. I understand this is not really a place to be "diagnosed" but it is somewhat "comforting" to hear others opinions.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the comment.

I've had the symptoms for around a year or so, they're certainly not new to me, however the discomfort some nights spreading to my elbows is a new development.

I haven't been tested no, my doctor said my poor memory might just be down to my depression (again, i've had this longer than since my mums passing which I did mention to him but he seemed more interested in me popping pills).

Hi Lomadias. Sorry about the passing of your mom and going through all this suffering.

Fibromyalgia is not an easy diagnosis.

Did your symptoms start before or after your mom's passing?

Have you been tested at all?

Looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes,
Niko
