Anyone trying to conceive

Sorry to post two questions, but they are so 'different' that I wanted to make sure they would be seen!

As I've mentioned before, I am typically on the Fertility forum of this website, but was wondering if there is anyone else out there that is ttc who has fibro??

Thanks!

Seems like forever ago that I wrote this post.

I don't believe that my fibromyalgia was (or is) responsible for my fertility problems. I don't have endometrosis, so I can't speak to that connection.

I had wonderful success on all of the fertility meds. that I took over the years and am currently 15 weeks pregnant after getting pregnant on a natural cycle!

38nwaiting - I actually experienced an incredible relief from fibromyalgia during the first trimester. I am now starting to have some of my symptoms return, so I will be resuming my chiropractic, massage and acupuncture care. Medicine for my fibro was never my first choice for my protocol. But as this syndrome is so well-known for, I am sure that it is different for every woman and every pregnancy!

I wish you all luck! ;)

I'm thinking that fibromyalgia is assoiciated with endometreosis.

Don't think I had fibro when trying to conceive, but now I do.  Perhaps a by-product of lupus.  But I had trouble and had a miscarriage.

Has anyone tried to determine what is going on with you.

Have they tried clomid..have they tried a stronger fertility med.

My story was, my eggs were not maturing.  Clomid on days 5-9 and Perganol on days 10-13.  This allowed the eggs I was making to mature w/o having a litter.  We now have two little precious boys.

I had an ectopic back in 96 after an exploratory surgery to find out if everything was functioning properly (it was taking longer than expected to conceive).  Exploratory surgery showed nothing significant wrong BUT It took me a lot longer to heal from a very minor surgery....   After a ruptured ectopic it was determined that I had an allergic reaction to the dye use in the exploratory surgery.   They removed both of my tubes, saved my life, but I would never be able to conceive on my own.   All this happened while on active duty in the USAF .   I have since been medically discharged and subsequently diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  I recently just learned that some believe that in some cases that fibro is triggered by an accident or traumatic event.  What I wonder is how much harder is it for people with fibro to go through ART's (advanced reproductive technologies)  Or even pregnancy we should come off of most of our meds so we have to dig even deeper for the will to deal with the pain.

Yea - I've been trying for about 3 1/2 years.  Two miscarriages and one failed IVF.  The fibro specialist said that there's no correlation between infertility and fibro, but it makes me wonder...are you on the Fertility forum here?

:)  ttc= trying to conceive.  And no I'm not.I just turned 54 Sat. and the thought of having a baby at my age scares the hell out of me. I've had my oldest grandson since he was 3 days old( brought him home from the hospital) and he is now 14. Fourteen years ago I was in better health and 14 years younger.

gentle hugs

Presumably someone who has the problem will know, but for the rest of us, what's "ttc"?
