The weird thing is FMS can actually effect any muscle, joint or bone!  I've been diagnosed since my car accident 3 years ago and besides my pressure points, I get it almost everywhere but not all at the same time. I get CFS and depression from it also and it had changed my life completely.  But I also agree you should see a doctor!  I went to one doctor who thought I was faking it, and then I went to another one who is a female and she is the one who located my pressure points and diagnosed me with it.  Good luck!

I have chronic pain in both hips when walking, standing, sitting, or lieing down.  They first thought it was osteoarthritus, which I have in numerous locations, but finally decided it was fibro.  Pain meds are all they have been able to do.  Good luck.

My fibro has also made my hips hurt.  Especially when trying to sleep on my side.  Fibro is known to effect both sides of the body.  When I had my first full blown flare, my ankles had been hurting for 3 months solid.  It does tend to move around the body though.  I thing a rheumatologist is your best bet to find out if it is or isn't.  Best wishes to you.

Did you hurt yourself at all? Such as picking up something heavy .. twisting or turning the wrong way? I've never had fibro pain in my hips, but I have seen a few posts mentioning it. Like Shanannagins said go visit a doctor, make sure its one you trust though.. because most doctors tend to blow people off nowadays.

Oh and read up on it, see if you're having more than one of the symptoms.

Best of luck to you.

best advice is to go to a rheumatologist.  If your pain is just in your hips it is probably not FM, but what do I know.  Have the doc test you for everything.
