Is this Fibromyalgia or MS?

ok for the past 18 months i have been getting tingling senstaions and numbness in my toe, along with muscles spasms and ligament pain. I have been to a neurologist twice and had 2 MRI's of brian and spine they have both come back fine as well as VEP,SEP,NCD and EMG they have all come back fine my neuro doesnt think its MS he says its stress related but i dont think stress would last thing long or get wosre?? so im yet to be coninced. as my numbness and tingling is travelling up my arm and legs and i even get it in my bumb often especially when i go to the toilet. my arms feel weaker then 18 months agao i get the shakes often and very cloudy mind. My body feels stiff and achy most of the time. I have been to  a Rhematolgist and he ruled out Lupus etc.im so anxious and stressed i have no idea what to do now or who to see i have tried alternate therapies including Natropath, Kinesology, remedial massage, physiotherapy, chirorator and an oestiopath and no one can tell me whats happening my next step is Chinese medicine to see if he can help so any information i would appreciate it very much. thankyou kindly

If your having numbness in your toe, chances are the nerve impairment would be coming from your lower back- NOT your neck and/or arms. Did you have your EMG and nerve conduction test in your neck and arms? Just curious. I have nerve damage in my lumbar spine and I have a numb left foot. I went through the EMG and nerve conduction testing as well. I'd be interested to know.

Also, I think you should be evaluated by a Rheumatologist for Fibromyalgia most certainly.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Hi
I know what you are going through, I had an MRI a few weeks ago because my Primary Care doctor wanted to test me for MS.  It came back negative for which I am grateful.  So my PCD sent me to a neurologist and he did a very fast neuro check, but basically said it is all anxiety and depression!  Well I take Cymbalta and clonazepam daily and I am not anxious but he was bound and determined to just chalk it up to age and gender!  So I am frustrated and am now going to try to take matters in my own hands and not listen to doctors like him!  My PCD is on vacation, but when she gets back we will talk and also my cholesterol is 291!  I know I am not helping but I just wanted to vent!  Good Luck to you :)

It does sound like it could be fibromyalgia.  Ask your doctor to test the 18 pain spots as a way to diagnose you.  With fibromyalgia they rule out other things and you must have 11 of the 18 pain spots.  Click on the blue fibromyalgia at the top and it will give you some good information and we are here for any support you may need.
