fibro and myofascial pain

Has anyone ever gotten over myofascial trigger points? The pt for mtp is flaring up my fibro. Is there any suggestions on other ways to deal with it?  I would also like to suggest the medication gabapentin for pain relief, it is a lot like Lyrica but a lot cheaper. Also I would like to know has anyone ever had high protein in blood tests?

thank you for replying, i have been desperate for anyone to understand our kind of pain and i didn't know this forum existed. i live in a rural community and i have to drive over an hour away to any doctors that might know a little about it. i don't have much of a support system at home because my husband doesn't get it and thinks its all in my head. the financial burden is pushing us to the brink of bankruptcy and i think divorce. thank you again for reading and replying, you have made a difference in my life. lots of love and good wishes

I had myofascial spasms as well a trigger points. I went to physical therapy, th pt was trained in myofascial release techniques. They strip the arms and legs where the knots are, breaking them up. It hurt a lot, I was also black & blue from it. I also had knots on my ribcage, and upper chest, due to an injury. It helped a lot. I still have some knots, but it's been 10 years since the treatments. I've had high protein in my blood workup, but noone seemed real excited about it. Good luck with your spasms.
