GABAPENTIN

Hello,
I was prescribed GABAPENTIN 3x daily (300mg). I WAS A WALKING ZOMBIE!!!! So, they reduced me down to 100mg 3x daily. I am still having severe nerve pain in my leg and hip. I have injections every 3 months which usually help a great deal. I am curious about one thing in particular. DOES ANYBODY ELSE SUFFER FROM MUSCLE OR NERVE TWITCHES AND JERKING? I am due to go to a new neurologist on monday and in a couple of weeks i got to my pain doctor for my injections.. HELP!

I don't jerk but again, everyone is different. Tell your doctor, esp if it drives you nuts. I find gabapentin is really helping me a great deal.

Get OFF Gabapentin. In 2020, a thorough study came out implicating Gabapentin in Alzheimer's and other dementia. If you've taken it more than 3 years (I have!) you are at highest risk. Anything, apparently, which alters your brain chemistry to help you sleep, like Ambien, has been implicated in dementia...OTC sleep drugs too!

I have been on gabapentin for a while now. 900 mg 4 x day. I have not had any twitching from it. I used to have the twitching before I started the med. Everyone reacts differently, so I would suggest checking out the side effects you can find a more comprehensive list on line. Check out the manufacturer web site.

I too suffer from leg jerking on Gabapentin. Mostly when I'm sitting or laying in bed
