My friend has it. She has an elevated sed rate in her blood tests, wide spread body pain and fatigue. She was diagnosed last April. Given prednisone. Has to be on for about 1 yr. Started w/high dosage & gradually is being tapered off every couple of months. She does feel better. As a matter of fact felt better almost as soon as she started treatment. But of course she worries about side effects.
I do not have it, but knew of someone who was dx'd with it. You can find a lot online if you do a search. My friend was having difficulty walking because of her PR and they treated her with steriods, which helped her a lot. The only issue with steriodal treatment is the side-effects and it's not something good to be on long term.
It may or may not reflect itself in the blood workup, but it is typically something that one over 50 will get. It differs from fibromyalgia because it causes inflammation. It's runs along the line of an arthritic type illness.
I hope they can help you feel better soon. Best of luck to you.
Sorry, I haven't been told that. If you don't believe him then dig deeper.
God Bless
