I too have suffered for years with fms, and now forasic herniated disk, im in pain all the time in one place or the other, as you all know.........Im most likely now am going to have to try to apply for ssi or disability after my work disability runs out... Does anyone have any advice? i have no clue what to do or how to do it!!!!!!!!!!!! Please help, Love Penny

Penwill65: I have been in the ssdi system for almost 3 years. I too have severe back problems that require narcotic pain meds just to get the pain levels down to a 5 or 6. My advise for you would be to go to as many doctors as you can. Get as much documentation as you can. Fill out the initial paperwork as thorough;y as you possibly can. Don't leave out anything.
If you are denied at the initial level I would suggest hiring an attorney for the appeal. You will need an attorney who is familiar with fms. I would go ahead and start shopping for one now. Good luck to you.

Hope I can help,I have A Bulging Disk,and Hernitated,narrowed at the Spine I Fell off a Horse in 2005,at Age 50 my Birthday, Lucky I can still walk Spamas's can be very bad I also have High Blood pre, Ashma Sezure's and Diabet's know i just went for my last Appeal and i was Turned Down,know my Doctor is Writing me a letter for Appeals Conseal! Some peaple get it for a pain in the Neck what can i say! my med is a !000 a mo and my Husbands pays it Sad ha!! that is the USA!! But Dont Give up!! this is our money I Worked many years i got sick on my Job that is the point i was payed by workmen comp then they payed me off, know SSI Wants to Say Good Buy!! Good morning all.  I saw my primary care physician on Wednesday and got some surprising news.  Ladies look into all the medications that you are currently taking.  I too was experiencing pain in my arms, shoulders and legs that felt as if I had been working out for days.  When I spoke to my doctor about this he told me that the medicine I was taking for my Cholesterol, Lipitor, was known for muscle pain.  Great to know I spent $70 plus each month to make myself hurt a little more.  And the night sweats that have had me up numerous times each night can be caused by the Cymbalta.  I am ready to stop taking everything and see what happens.  It can not get any worse.  So please look into all the medicines that you are taking and make sure that there are no side effects that are actually making you worse.  

My doctor is taking me off the Lipitor for four weels to see if the pain subsides.  If not he then wants to consider sending me a "Reputable" Pain Management clinic.  A couple of years ago someone had suggested this to me but I was also told that they would make a Zombie out of me, but my doctor assures me that with a reputable clinic this should not happen.  Like many of you I am sure you are all tired of living with the pain.
