Omeprazole effectiveness

My doctor says I have esophagitis, and prescribed for me 20 mg omeprazole for 4 weeks.
I am taking it now for 6 days and don't see any improvement yet.
The drug reviews say it usually takes up to 4 days to feel better. Is this the case, or may it take longer time to see results?
Thanks.

Hi...u do have to modify ur diet along with taking meds in order to help the meds work faster...if u continue to eat foods that trigger ur reflux it will take the meds longer to work, or for u to feel their effects.

Keeping a journal as to what u eat and how u feel can help u determine if something other then reflux is going on such as the above posted mentions.

   keep us posted

I had a friend with heartburn as her only symptom of what turned out to be Celiac disease.  It took 3 months on a gluten-free diet for her pain to subside.
