Painful swallowing

For about four days I've had painful swallowing, only when eating food.  It is felt at the top of my esophagus.  No fever or vomiting.  What could this be?

Mine started at the center of the beginning of my esophagus and caused pain swallowing...

Started taking ampicillin after some 3days it continued so I switched to Lincomycin and the next day it separated to the corner of my esophagus and under my jaw if I touch there.

Paining me slightly but uncomfortably when I speak.
Had an issue of TMJ couple of years back.

Need advice!!!

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

I have to agree with the above poster, after 4 days u should deff see a Dr....and that it can be so many things outside of GERD. My sister just had this issue and went to a Dr to find it was a thyroid issue....

Do see a Dr and let us know what u find out.

After four days, it's time to see a physician in-person. Most likely is strep infection, but there are a host of other possibilities.
