Ask ur pharamacist what OTC med u can take with it like Maalax tablets ...and don't forget to avoid the foods that will trigger a flare.

PPI's are slow to get working...and they don't always work for everyone. I took them over the yrs for flares and this last time they just stopped working , so I am now on HII and they work much better for me.

Relax and give it the time, and if it still isn't working contact ur dr for a med change.

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

May I ask how long u r taking the meds?.....it can take time to see results of the meds. And u should be also watching ur diet and make some lifestyle changes.

It is possible that the meds u r on may not work, but do give it some time and if u still haven't seen results ask ur dr about the possiblity of trying a diff med.Nexium is a PPI (proton pump inhibator) U may want to try an rx stregenth of pepcid which is a HII (histamine inhibator)

Keep us posted on ur progress
