gerd and vitamin B deficiency

Does GERD cause a deficiency in vitamin B?  I have recently read that it does and am curious what others think.  I have GERD and Hiatal Hernia and take Pantoprazole, 40 mg twice a day.  Susan

This is exactly why I avoid using the PPI's any more than I absolutely need to.

Hi....it is not gerd that can cause the deficiency, but  it is the meds that can cause  malabsorbtion issues of vitamins.
