I was told to take a motrin and have a great day, upon leaving the hospital after surgery. I am allergic to most pain killers, so I never get any. I would rather have something then just "Take a motrin have a great day"

i had my gallbladder out a year ago and only took the pain pills for a day, was driving by day 3 and havent had pain since.... you need to go back to dr.... keep us updated
I have to agree that you need to return to the doctor and discuss this. I have to tell you I felt better immediately and only used a pain pill the first day and after that a NSAID covered the discomfort. I felt 1000% better by day 3. Something is wrong here.

thanks for reply, i will go back to my doctors, i can feel somethings not right, the pains seem to be getting worse as well. my tummy feels hot like its burning inside and feels tight.
will keep posted as to what doctor says.. thanks again
What is your surgeon saying? Requiring pain killers beyond the first few days is unusual and indicates further evaluation to rule out a complication such as a bile leak, pulmonary complication, etc. this symptoms need to be discussed with your surgeon.
