Part 3: Unrelated symptoms? Apparently not.

2018 – I found the cause of what appears to be all of these problems. At the end of 2017 I had an upper GI and was told I had gastritis that was causing significant inflammation. The doctor gave me carfate to coat my stomach and a PPI to reduce the acid in my stomach. I took these meds for about a month to just get my stomach healed. Then I had a colonoscopy at the beginning of the year. That came back good. I started doing research on the issues with my stomach. I discovered the reason I was having this problem was because my stomach acid was chronically too LOW. Not HIGH. I knew I didn’t have high stomach acid and was why I only took the meds given for a month. The doctor wanted me to take them THE REST OF MY LIFE! Ridiculous! So, the LOW stomach acid causes both openings of the stomach (top and bottom) to not close completely. The acid level is what triggers them to close. I was having the gastritis because the bottom flap to my stomach wasn’t closing all the way and allowing bile to back up into my stomach. Now I don’t have a gallbladder anymore, so it was because of this steady stream of bile that I was having the continuous problem with the gastritis. This also caused me to sleep on my right side EVERY NIGHT, because if I tried sleeping on my left, I got acid reflux because the top opening flap in my esophagus wasn’t closing. This would wake me up out of a dead sleep with feeling as though I was about to drown in my own stomach acid. It was awful and extremely frustrating. I did the HCL test where you take a hydrochloric acid tablet when you eat and if you don’t get heartburn you’re low in acid and to add another tablet each time you ate until you get heartburn and then you know how low you are and back off by one. This is the number you need until you start getting heartburn and then back off another until you’ve weaned yourself off of them and your stomach acid levels are normalized. I was up to 9 tablets with a meal. That’s 4500mg and still didn’t have heartburn. I didn’t add anymore. That’s how I knew when the dr tried to tell me I needed the PPI for the rest of my life I was done with that dr.
So, the right sided problems I had were from sleeping on this side of my body too much. It was preventing my lymph system from draining. Then I found out the migraines were caused from my gallbladder (or lack thereof). Really everything traced back to originate from my stomach having low acid. EVERYTHING. I also found out that the swelling throughout my body was due to high INSULIN, not high BLOOD SUGAR. I could continue to break this all down but I think you’ve read enough. I put this list together to show, hopefully, that I, like a lot of you, have struggled FOR YEARS, and it wasn’t like I didn’t try to help myself. No one knew what was wrong with me. During my research about diet I found out a lot of things that had I known, I would never have cleaned up my diet or kept searching until I found the cause and just eventually succumbed to prescriptions. And, believe me, there were times I seriously considered it.
If you have ANY of the problems I’ve listed in this ridiculously long post. Search for Dr. Berg on YouTube. Look for his most popular videos, I think there’s 11 of them, they’ve been grouped together. That’s the best place to start. Once done there, search for the symptoms you have and his name. He has over 2000 videos. I am not being compensated for this endorsement. I’m a paying customer, by choice, as 95% of his recommendations he tells you what to go buy for yourself, doesn’t try to sell you anything and I truly believe this man wants to help people. One piece of advice I would give is, pick a person, like Dr Berg, if what they’re saying makes sense (and he does) and follow only that one person, consistently for 6 months. No two people are going to agree 100% so, you have to trust in someone and follow what they tell you, AND DO IT CONSISTENTLY, no questions asked. It took me a long time to get where I am now but I would have gotten here much sooner if I’d just picked one person and followed their instructions 100%, CONSISTENTLY. One, I was too impatient, two I’d find something and then just start reading everything I could on the subject and try to implement it all. Can’t do that. It doesn’t work. Between conflicting information and it making everything too complicated, it caused me to not be CONSISTENT. You’re not going to like everything you hear about a program to get well, I didn’t either. But I really did want to get well so when I ran across Dr Berg. I decided I was going to do this by the book and CONSISTENTLY. I’ve had a lifelong sugar addiction. It’s not been pretty. I lied to myself for many years that I could control it, but I couldn’t. Dr Berg showed me why I couldn’t and I did what he told me to do in these videos. I have not eaten ANY sugar for 30 days. I’ve lost a TON of weight in just 30 days. The reason is because Dr Berg shows you how you’ve got to change your diet and supplement vitamin and mineral deficiencies to be healthy and that being overweight is nothing more than a symptom of a deeper problem. The key is understanding the difference between high INSULIN and high BLOOD SUGAR. Did you know that if you eat too much protein the excess will turn to sugar? Or that if you eat sugar and protein together that your insulin will raise 200% higher than sugar or protein alone?
I spent a ton of time combing through sites like ************ reading, hoping to find answers. Others would say they were trying something and would report back. There would tons of inquiries but the person never reported back. I wrote this to post to some of the sites I could remember because I know how you feel and told myself no matter what, if I ever find the solution, I’m going back and post something because no one should have to suffer like we have and we all need to help one another as much as possible. If this helps just one person, it was worth it. May God bless you all and I hope you find a solution for your individual issues.
