I had appendicitis almost 5 years ago. Mine was pretty fast so it may be different for others. I had just given birth a month earlier and was dozing in bed with him that morning (he nursed and we tended to fall asleep that way). I just remember feeling sick and nauseous. I got up and tried to eat a few saltine crackers and I immediately threw it up. I knew something was wrong. I felt shaky, sick and had a pain on my right side and over to my middle near my belly button.
I gave the baby to my 12 year old daughter and told her I needed to go to the ER and drove myself there. I called my husband, who was at work, and told him what was going on. They started running tests on me, including blood tests, MRI, etc. I was feeling worse and worse while I was there. I felt weak, shaky, like I was going to throw up at any time and cold. I asked for a blanket and laid shivering and miserable under the blanket. I could not get comfortable no matter what position I tried to take. The pain was making that impossible. Finally a few hours after I had arrived they had a conclusion, that I had appendicitis and called for a surgeon. By the time he showed up and explained what they would have to do, I didn't even care anymore. I was so miserable I just wanted them to knock me out and get it over with. They did the surgery and I had an inflamed, enlarged appendix that they removed.
It all happened pretty fast but I do remember the pain and sickness I felt. Of course, with each person they can feel things differently. Also, some people can experience the pain and nausea over days or even weeks, I've heard. I'm just thankful mine was over pretty quickly!

Do you feel like you have appendicitis? Is that why you're asking? If so, you should go in and get it checked out. I wish you well.

Thank you for your reply..i fear that i may have appendicitis. Thing is when i lay down and push down on the area from belly button to hip bone and down a little, it dont hurt. I feel alot of hardness, gassy bubbles like crazy. But when i stand up and move around I have a slight uncomfy pain. However the last couple of days, i've had some severe sharp shooting pains real low on right side that shoot down to my (gross) rectum. It is a couple days until my period and in the past i've had this shooting pain when having a bowle movement during my period.
I do have a history cysts on my ovaries and don't know if this could be causing my pain for this many times and days.
When i experience this sharp pain, few min later i pass some (gross again) smelly gas. Pain subsides but returns later again.
I have been diagnosed w/ibs. The pain i generally feel when its not sharp is like a small bee sting.
I do off and on have nausea.
Couple weeks ago i was seen in the er for upper right abdominal pain. Got brushed off as if it was nothing.  Couple days later went back cause was getting worse and my dr. wasnt available and they ran blood work and ct scan. All normal. He told me there was no reason for me to even come back. Now i feel if my pain gets too bad that they wont figure it out and it would be pointless going back.
I am verrrry bloated.
no temp over around normal. But i do keep checking and noticed a couple of times it went up a .one.

i dont know. i have an appointment monday w/my gyno to see if i have anything going on in there.

Where exactly did you have your pain? I hate the bloating!!! uuuuggghhh!!!
Well i'm glad that you got prompt medical attention and fine now!!

best of wishes,
shawnee

Well, I didn't have the gassiness you have. Maybe that's your IBS? Did they test you to see if it's your overies again? I'm thinking it may be that but I don't know. I've never had that.
I had the pain on my right radiating over to the middle around my belly button. I felt it more in the front, I think. It's been a few years so I'm trying to remember everything. I think I also had a slight fever if I remember correctly. I'll try to remember if I forgot anything else.
Judging by what you're saying I'm not sure it's appendicitis but maybe the cysts or something. Have you been tested for Crohns? Have they done a barium swallow test to make sure you don't have a blockage somewhere? I'd check into all the gastro stuff too while you're at it. Good luck! I hope you find out something soon!

Well actually in April I had pain and achyness in my pelvic and vaginal area and the ER did a vaginal ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound. All they found was a very small amount of fluid in my pelvis. She said that a cyst probably bursted and the body has a way of naturally absorbing the fluid. She told me it was very common to get a cyst every month around period time and it popping.
Then from April to June i had a severe bouts of not being able to have bowel movements. I would swell in the belly and not want to eat. Had alot of upper right abdomen pain and i have no gallbladder so the dr. checked my liver and pancreas by doing bloodwork. At this time from April to June i lost a total of 12 pounds. Then just a week or so after 4th of July I ran to the er again cause i could get an available dr., for more upper pain. It felt like i was litterally kicked in the gut. He did blood work for liver and normal then sent me home with pepcid.
Two days later got even worse. I felt week from not eating much and just yucky. Same er dr. of course, he did a abdominal ct scan and more blood work. Normal again. They did make me drink this clear bottle of water with a dye in it to highlight everything.
He told me there was no reason for me to even come back!!!  RUDE i thought. Now i feel like i should just bear it out and wait for my dr. At this time i lost a total of almost 20 pounds.
My pain got worse and went to another DR. who finally had an opeing, and he pushed and said probably just gastritis. Put me on Nexium once daily. But why is this pain in my lower right now and all of this liquid gassy bubbles sound???? SO confused!!! lol
I have an appt Monday w/gyno dr. to get a check up once again...uuuugugggg

Today was ok, then gradually got yucky feeling. VERY BLOATED!!!! I feel very full like i just ate a turkey but still a hunger feeling..
My husbands new insurance wont pick up till late Sept. and this one we're on now expires this month. So i'm trying to get all the appts as possible i need to figure this thing out.
Another thing i notice is sometimes my belly in large areas feel like (a foot had fallen asleep and numb/tingley and sometimes burny).
I'm sorry..i hope ya don't think i'm some hypochondriac but with me when something goes wrong...it goes wrong alllll over in different places...
Well we'll just see what these dr.s say next..hope i get some answers

I'll keep you in touch and thanx for letting me vent!! LOL  :-)
