Vagus nerve, hiatal hernia, and hydroxyzine.

I have a 2cm hiatal hernia that is making me very symptomatic and creating Vagus Nerve irritation. Part of my stomach is actually above my diaphragm. I had a consultation with a surgeon and will be having surgery after the GI doctor finishes some "swallow" tests on my esophagus. In the meanwhile, I have to keep dealing with the symptoms (chest pains, arm and neck pains, reflux, abdominal pain, tachycardia, anxiety, and  random spasms).    I've had two EKG, doctors all say I seem healthy besides all the symptoms I mentioned, and contribute the increased pulse to Vagal nerve irritation.  I was originally given Hydroxyzine 50mg and have taken it for about two months. I stopped a few days ago when I was scheduled for an endoscopy and I've been hesitant to start it again. The last time I took it, I had spasms I hadn't had before. My hand actually shook and had major spasms for a few seconds. Is this a side affect of the Hydroxyzine or the Vagus nerve being irritated? I'm so confused and don't know what I should be doing. Would you recommend trying the Hydroxyzine again? Or do you have any recommendations on how to calm the Vagus nerve without it? I read random tricks involving breathing, but I don't want to make anything worse with the hernia. I'm in enough pain already  without the Vagus nerve adding to it. PLEASE HELP

My LES is also staying open as well. Don't really know if that's relevant to my main question, but I want you to have all the info. My medications are Protonix, Gaviscon, Provera, Carafate, and the hydroxyzine.
