50/50 chance of survival

HI guys and girls
i am a 24 year old male, I mite have hirschsprung's disease but from what my consultant said "he cannot be sure wether its hirschsprung's disease" he also told me i mite have to have an operation on my stomach but there is a 50/50 chance of survival and i mite need a temp/or a parmanent stoma bag i am so frighten of this. what make me so frighten is that as i am young and single and want a girlfriend  and children in my life but from what i read from other ppl on the net makes me scream that i don't want to have a stoma i explaned this to my  consultant he said there is a lot of ppl with a stoma out in this world with them and the  quickiest way would be to have a soave pullthrough i am not sure where to turn i don't want to die or end up with a stoma bag. i need to advice.

Cheers

Thanks for your reply, I am in London england, Guys and saint thomas hospital is the best one i have been told, my consultant Andrew williams write me letters and there only 2 ways to do this operation. the first one is a soave pullthrough and the other is ending up with a for 3 montbs or for life stoma bag and i am frighten of this.Andrew william pelvac floor is board certified if you search the net under the hospital and i have been told he is the best by my doctor. i am getting a second opinon that could take 6 months. He gives me manual edvacuations to stop my stomach spitting and leaking into my blood system, that way i could die he says.

Get a second opinion ASAP!

Your doctor isn't communicating with you, and a 50% chance of death is scary, and sounds way high for your apparent condition, but if your doctor is bad enough it wouldn't suprise me.

Go to another GI, NOW!

One that is board certified, with a good track record, affiliated with a good hospital and one that is willing to talk to your about your options and prognosis in a way you can understand - which your current dr is failing with!
