weird stomach problems..any ideas?

So for the past week I have had nausea that persists no matter what I eat or if I eat or don't eat. Sometimes my stomach will burn and grumble and I've been a bit gassy. I have a slight dull pain under my right rib cage so I thought it was my gallbladder but the dull pain moves around on my right side and isn't constant or unbearable. I'm not really sure what's going on and its getting frustrating. I have a dr appt on monday but I don't even know what it can be.

I'll see what they can do for me. Although everyone seems to think its my anxiety. Hopefully that's all it is. How do they check for the hernia? I had stomach xrays last month and they didn't find anything unusual.

Your gallbladder is probably OK, but you may have a hiatal hernia. A hiatal hernia is caused when your esophragus passes through an opening in your diaphragm that separates your chest cavity from your abdomial cavirty. A portion of your stomach can slip down into the opening producing pressure and pain. This condition could lead to GERD when your stomach acid backs up into your esophagus. You should mention to your doctor that you may have a hiatal hernia and need treatment.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  I read in your profile that you just stopped xanax and have been having problems with more anxiety.  All of the symptoms you describe can be caused by anxiety.  I'm not saying that your symptoms ARE causing by anxiety, but it is a possibility that should be considered.  Nausea is very common when someone is anxious, along with the other symptoms.  The gas can be causing by swallowing air, which people that are anxious do sometimes unconsciously.  I would still recommend seeing your doctor on monday, but I don't think you need more urgent care.  Good luck.
