I am an otherwise healthy twenty one year old woman who does not drink or smoke and eats a fairly healthy diet.
For the past two months, I've been experiencing some worrisome symptoms. It started with nausea every night and abdominal bloating during the day. Then I was diagnosed with a UTI caused by Lactobacillus infection and took antibiotics to clear that up. The nausea stopped, but I still feel abdominal bloating every day. It feels as if my stomach is full, and sometimes there is dyspepsia. It is uncomfortable to lie on my stomach. When my doctor pressed on my stomach, it felt tender. Sometimes I also feel lower left abdominal discomfort. I have been belching very often, and sometimes when I try to use the bathroom there is a lot of flatulence but I'm unable to pass stool.
However, there is no stomach pain. I also tend to feel better once I have eaten. I have a sore tongue with an inflamed tip, and tasting food is difficult. This has lasted for at least several weeks. I've had more difficulty passing stools for about a month now. I pass every other day on average, mostly small hard amounts in pieces, but sometimes a large single yellowish-brown stool. Another issue I have is that it feels constantly like I'm having bladder pressure or fullness. When I haven't eaten in a few hours, I feel weak and shaky, and my vision seems weaker. However, that is a new symptom and I am using antibiotics to treat a sinus infection.
My doctor prescribed Zantac for me to take once a night for a month, but I don't think I have GERD or an ulcer because I have no heartburn or pain. I've looked up everything from gastritis to giardiasis to ovarian cancer, but I just had a vaginal ultrasound two weeks ago and everything was normal. I am also definitely not pregnant. My sexual partner is clean. The urinalysis results from this week were normal, and I have a renal ultrasound scheduled for Monday.
I'm at a loss and worried. Can someone help?
