Bouts of constipation mixed with soft flat stool

Ok...about 2 months ago I had a high fever (thanks to my sweet daughter who wacked the whole family with a fever..LOL) I didn't eat anything for two days...then I of course pigged out once I felt better. Since then I have had a pain on my right side that comes and goes. Its not so much a pain as a dull ache. It comes and goes and I don't usually notice it when I am working (I do carpentry) I also for the first time in my life became constipated. Which was annoying! Ive been either constipated or having soft clay colored flat stool on and off. Like a ribbon. Only once did I have a normal size bowel movement during the past 2 months. Now..I have had a tremendous amount of stress for the past 6 months. Work...family...ect. I'm pretty sure I have had IBS since I was 16. Never diagnosed but have all the symptoms. I do worry alot about things. So, I wonder if this is all stress related. My grandfather and father both had gall bladders removed. So I guess it could be that. But I wasn't sure if flat clay colored stool was connected to a gall bladder problem. Btw..also noticed that if I lay on my right side sometimes it feels uncomfortable. But never painful. Thanks! I also had mono when I was in high school and remember having a dull pain on my right side. MAybe it came back? I worry about it all but know that just makes things worse. Positive! Think Positive!

I too had flat stools after taking that heavy laxative that you get from the pharmacy and you add water (2 litres) to to clean out your bowels for an cholenoscopy.  It was awful.  It was like my bowels were rejecting any food after the "draino".  I was severly constipated for a week.  I am no doctor but I think a persons system will reject things after a severe disruption.

You have hypochodriasis- a disorder in which persons are preoccupied with their health and fear that they have a certain disease, despite the reassurance from the doctor. Try to avoid stress, this causes pain in the abdomen. Everybody has hi/her problems you are not alone.
The pain at the right side might be appendix problem- dont freak this is an assumption.
